Develops business plans with multi-disciplinary clinical groups. Projects include market research, resource identification, implementation guidelines and clinical research, as needed.
Completes strategic analyses for development and tracking of the Hospital and Research Institute's strategic plan and individual objectives therein.
Serves as -owner representative- for construction and build-out of off-site facilities. This includes coordinating the business plan, collaborating with administration and clinical staff to determine facility needs, managing the RFP and selection processes, effectively working with architects, general contractors, sub-contractors and city government officials to complete construction of the building, managing all related costs, and assisting operational leads with start-up.
Assists with forecasting demographics, demand for services, capacity, etc. for short and long-range strategic, programmatic and facility plans and processes. This includes direct meetings with Medical Section Chiefs and clinic and/or service line managers to review projections for upcoming budget cycles.
Supports all physician relations activities, including efforts to improve physician communications, orient house staff and develop relationships with referring physicians.
Assists with production and evaluation of institutional strategic and program-specific strategic plans, including plan development and identification of implementation steps.
Designs, develops and maintains planning analyses and reports, including graphic presentation and dissemination.
Performs research and develops analyses of services by hospital and competitors, creating service line and competitor market assessments.
Maintains knowledge of appropriate resources and tools, e.g. planning monthly reports, census data, Advisory Board tools and reports, CHA tools and reports, Cliqview, etc.
Develops working relationships with other planners and regulatory agencies in the region and state.
Carries out special projects as assigned by Director or Senior Vice President, including project management, data analysis, and special studies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
One to three years of academic and/or professional experience in systems planning required, health care experience preferred; OR one to three years experience in health care business development and physician relations required.
Clinical knowledge to understand and evaluate patient- and physician-specific information, including DRG and CPT coding, as well as other diagnostic and procedural terminologies.
Excellent skills in computer data management systems, extensive spreadsheet and presentation graphics knowledge required.
