As Senior Project Manager, you will play a key role within ICON ensuring overall client happiness. You will be our client's main contact for ICON's services and providing day-to-day management of studies. As a trusted partner, you will attend client meetings to provide project updates. You will also be actively involved in training and mentoring junior members of the team.

The Role: Senior Project Manager, Oncology

Location: US

  • As a member of staff, the employee is expected to embrace and contribute to our culture of process improvement with a focus on streamlining our processes adding value to our business and meeting client needs.

  • Travel (approximately 20-30%) domestic and/or international. Travel to other sites within the network may be required to support increases in workload and, or studies/projects as needed.

  • Lead the planning and implementation of cross-functional project(s).

  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables

  • Define project tasks and resource requirements.

  • Develop full-scale cross-functional project plans.

  • Assemble and coordinate project staff

  • Manage project budget

  • Plan and schedule project timelines

  • Develop and Manage Risk Mitigation Strategies for projects

  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools

  • Provide direction and support to project team

  • Quality assurance

  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders

  • Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions.

  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs

  • Project evaluations and assessment of results

  • Other duties as assigned

Previous applicants must reapply to be considered.</p><p>Salary Grade: NC23 Salary Range: $74,429 - $145,136</p><p>This position manages Project Managers who manage the day-to-day activities associated with a portfolio of centrally-managed STIP projects during the pre-construction phase to ensure project schedules and defined outcomes are met which includes estimating, validating, re-estimating project times and schedules. The position maintains an overview of project tasks and project milestones and works with team members to expedite the completion of critical tasks to meet deadlines. The position has frequent interaction with resources and permitting agencies, reviews NEPA and SEPA documents and manages Project Managers who facilitate and guide transportation projects through the project development process. The position also assists the Team Lead in managing the allocation and utilization of all resources, focusing resources on project delivery with the outcome of delivering projects within scope, on schedule within budget; setting performance measures and goals; measuring work accomplished; making recommendations regarding employee performance/disciplinary issues; providing instructions, guidance and coaching to team members and participating in the hiring process. The position collaborates and coordinates with Divisions, initially and during project development, on project scope, deliverables, schedule, key decisions, and other issues. Additionally, the position interacts with Division Engineers, Unit Heads, local government officials, legislative representatives, congressional delegates, advocacy groups, and the general public.</p><p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies</p><p>QualifiedApplicants must submit an application that clearly reflects work experience that demonstrates the following:</p><ul><li><p>Experience managing and directing project management personnel, leading multi-disciplinary teams, promoting teamwork, and fostering communication with Senior Leadership, stakeholders, citizens, and among the project team members.</p></li><li><p>Experience in scope development, man-day estimation, contract negotiation, progress report validation, invoicing approval, and providing consultant evaluations.</p></li><li><p>Experience in project management: scoping, developing work plans, allocating resources, assigning tasks, managing schedules, monitoring and reporting progress, managing risk, cost containment, ensuring quality, decision-making, and coordination and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of the overall NCDOT project delivery process, including transportation and highway engineering, techniques, practices, and procedures.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of Federal and State regulations and laws and FHWA and NCDOT design policies, procedures, and guidelines.</p></li><li><p>Experience supervising permanent employees, contractors and/or consultants</p></li></ul><p>Minimum Education and Experience Requirements</p><p>Bachelor's degree in an applicable field of engineering from an appropriately accredited institution and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience including three (3) years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.</p><p>Necessary Special Qualification:</p><p>May require registration as a professional engineer by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.</p><p>Supplemental and Contact Information</p><p>Claire Chiancone 919-707-6309</p><p>Applicant must meet both the minimum requirements and all posted Knowledge, Skills and Ability requirements to be considered Qualified for the position.
