Job Description:

Mission Statement:

Execute assigned Project Management activities associated with Microgrids (MG), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Grid Automation (GA) and other associated system engineering activities within the Grid Automation (Grid Edge Solutions- GES) business. The primary responsibility will be the formal Project Management of Projects and Contracts in Microgrids Systems for diverse applications (e.g. Commercial & Industrial, Mining, Oil & Gas, grid scale energy storage, etc.). Power Generation or Systems Control background is also well regarded.

Responsibilities:

  • You will lead the project team allocated to the project, defining main guidelines, allocating project tasks, and motivating and monitoring internal and external resources to accomplish all tasks and milestones, provide performance feedback regarding allocated resources working on projects.

  • You will define all project plan documents jointly with the Project Controls department, including scope and financial plans, schedule and risk management plans, ensure that the project follows execution best practices and HITACHI ENERGY policies. You will effectively monitor and control project progress and efficient resource utilization.

  • You will monitor and control project financials, overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses, and cash flow, identify, qualify, quantify, and manage project risks and ensure that all opportunities are identified and pursued. You will capture, analyze, and share lessons learned throughout the project, ensure that the project is formally closed out as contractually agreed. You will drive the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out, and its acknowledgment by the customer.

  • You will ensure that the project consistently applies contract and claims management in accordance with HITACHI ENERGY policies and contractual agreements, coordinate with Supply Chain Management and successfully procure required services, materials, and equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers. You will support Supply Chain Management in supplier negotiations, claims, and project changes.

  • You will share lessons learned throughout the project, ensure that the project is formally closed out as contractually agreed, drive the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out, and its acknowledgment by the customer.

  • You will ensure that the project consistently applies contract and claims management in accordance with HITACHI ENERGY policies and contractual agreements, coordinate with Supply Chain Management and successfully procure required services, materials, and equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers.

  • You will support Supply Chain Management in supplier negotiations, claims, and project changes and ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental policies. You will develop account and acquisition plans to support growth.

Your background:

  • Tertiary or degree qualifications in Engineering (Electrical or Electronics) or recognized equivalent.

  • Project Management Certification (PMP) highly desirable.

  • High level of technical aptitude in electrical engineering and industrial software technologies.

  • Ability to develop understanding of GA, MG and BESS control systems.

  • Advanced computer skills using engineering software applications.

  • Demonstrates an interest in and understanding of others; Adapts to the team and builds team spirit.

  • Recognizes the contribution of others; Listens, consults others and communicates proactively.

  • Establish good relationships with customers and staff, uilds wide and effective networks of contacts inside and outside the organization. Relate well to people at all levels.

  • Proactive and highly organized including timeliness and ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities.

  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team and highly flexible and demonstrable problem-solving skills.

  • Time management, co-ordination, accuracy, attention to detail and performing in a pressure environment are necessary.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and high attention to detail.
