Job Responsibilities

  • The Sr Project Manager is responsible for driving complex, high priority, projects or component phases of larger programs. Accountable for delivering projects on time, within budget, and within scope. This individual will lead and coordinate cross-functional, cross-departmental, cross-company teams that are responsible for all aspects of a project, from initiation to closure. The Project Manager exemplifies strong initiative and management skills. 1. Insures project methodologies, project delivery processes, and implementation management processes are followed. This includes managing and driving: Project Schedule Risk and Issue Management Scope Change Management 2. Manages the project budget. This includes understanding and validating estimates, cost variance tracking, and managing project resources effectively. 3. Provides clear and concise project communication; both written and verbal. 4. Facilitates/manages project communications and stakeholder, client and project team expectations.

Scope of Job

In addition to duties of a Project Manager, takes projects from original concept through final implementation. Interfaces with all areas affected by the project including end users, distributors, and vendors. Ensures adherence to quality standards and review project deliverables. May communicate with a company executive regarding the status of specific projects.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, plus 6 years progressive management experience, including management of major projects, in a large operating environment. PMP preferred. Skills/Experience Proficient in Microsoft Office tools Proficient in Microsoft Project and or Microsoft Project Server Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills Proven success in delivering projects within budget and specified timeframes, while ensuring customer satisfaction Proven problem solving skills from problem assessment to solution selection Ability to identify alternatives and make contingency plans Capacity to embrace change and quickly adapt to new situations, changes in direction, and altering priorities Proven ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, providing options and recommendations relating to resolving issues, mitigating risks, and resolving escalated items.

Your Opportunity Our team is experiencing exciting growth within our established Water Sector and a new opportunity exists for a highly-motivated Project Manager with municipal infrastructure experience to join our team in Atlanta, GA.. The successful candidate will use their management and technical abilities to manage a team of design professionals and technicians to deliver projects involving the planning and design of a wide array of civil and water resources projects, predominantly water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure. Your Key Responsibilities * Management of projects of varying complexity within multidisciplinary teams * Effectively working with key technical specialists, project team members, and delivery managers * Serving as a leader of project teams and mentoring and supervising junior staff, including the coordination and review of project assignments * Assisting with business development pursuits including proposal preparation and participation in interviews * Interfacing directly with clients and management regarding status of project scope, schedule, and budget * Leading and managing preparation of construction documents including; plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates * Research and understanding issues related to regulatory and other drivers that impact individual projects * Full managerial responsibility for all aspects of the project: scope, schedule, design, risk, quality, staff, etc. * Managing a team of design professionals and technicians that comply with the contract agreement as well as exercise rigid cost control to implement the approved design within established budget restraints * Representing Stantec at meetings, presentations, and public hearings relative to assigned projects * Being active in professional societies in which clients or potential clients are members Your Capabilities and Credentials * Ability to work well in a team environment without direct supervision * Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks * Possess a hard-working and positive attitude * Registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Georgia or the ability to obtain within 6 months * PMP, BCEE, and ENV SP certifications desirable, but not required Education and Experience Possess a Bachelors in Civil or Environmental Engineering. Masters degree a plus. Have a minimum of 10 years' experience (15 years preferred) in water/municipal infrastructure-related fields.
