The Finance team's goal is to be a trusted and collaborative partner to all the businesses and functional teams that we work with, bringing business acumen, financial expertise and insights to aid decision-making and deliver value to our stakeholders. In this role you will report to the Head of the Global Finance PMO and be a part of building the Program Management Office (PMO) for Finance. In addition to leading complex initiatives in support of the Finance strategic vision, you will help establish project management guidelines and practices to ensure effective, efficient, high-quality delivery that consistently meets or exceeds the expectations of the business. You will handle the business-side of multiple projects and will interact with multi-disciplinary and cross-cultural teams at all seniority levels, including leadership. The successful candidate should be able to quickly understand the business and must have excellent communication skills, with strong experience in leading complex projects in a global environment.


  • Form recommendations on PMO best practices and help shape development of new PMO organization.

  • Lead programs and projects from idea phase through to implementation. Develop project plans and schedules, balance resources and track the completion of milestones.

  • Align program with other company initiatives and manage cross-project dependencies

  • Proactively manage risks and anticipate potential issues which pose a threat to achieving project goals; propose plans to resolve issues and execute corrective actions.

  • Cultivate strong stakeholder relationships and maintain effective communication channels. Ensure all stakeholders are aware of project decisions and status. Keep executive sponsors informed via status presentations and appropriate escalations.

  • Manage through others; successfully influence cross-functional team members to achieve project goals.

  • Support team members and establish healthy, collaborative relationships.

  • Maintain enthusiasm, energy and focus in a variety of circumstances.


  • Bachelor's degree required (information systems, business, finance preferred), MIS or MBA a plus

  • 10+ years project and program management

  • Proven ability to build and lead integrated teams from various internal and external organizations across geographies

  • Business leadership of large cross-functional technology implementations with teams such as Finance, HR, Marketing or Sales.

  • Working knowledge of business process analysis methodology and tools

  • Strong understanding of Agile PM practices

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus

  • Experience with Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report, Forecast to Delivery and Hire to Retire a plus

Work Location: San Diego, California Key Responsibilities: Wood is seeking a Senior CEQA Project Manager to serve as a key member of the Environmental Planning Group. In this role, you will manage preparation of CEQA documents for municipal customers in the central coast and Southern California. You will initially be responsible for managing small to medium projects and teams under group leadership direction and review, then grow into more complex planning and environmental impact assessment projects. You will directly interact with agency customers, provide technical direction and editing of environmental impact analyses, and manage and mentor technical teams to complete projects within budget and schedule expectations. You will facilitate project meetings, hearings, and workshops, including some regional travel. You will also help grow the practice with proposal support and strategic marketing outreach. You will also be a member of a small, collaborative leadership team for a dedicated and hard-working group of environmental planners, technical specialists, and professional writers. Skills / Qualifications * Solid experience as a deputy project manager and/or project manager for small and medium projects * Solid working knowledge of CEQA and California planning * Exceptional technical writing and editing skills, demonstrated by writing samples * A demonstrated commitment to high quality technical analysis and critical thinking in the environmental review process * A tenacious interest in business development with new and existing clients, including experience and/or interest in writing proposals * Initiative and confidence working in a collaborative and communicative team * Leadership qualities, including interest in mentoring junior staff * Ability to maintain client and team relationships and identify risks/liabilities early and often * A BS/BA with at least 7 years of experience of environment planning, natural resources, or related field; or a Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience * Preferably, experience working with public and private clients in a private consulting firm and/or local agency work experience * MONEIS* Company Overview Wood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
