PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Manage Information Technology projects consisting of cross-functional teams involving multiple IT disciplines and areas including contract resources. Responsible for managing the scope, schedule, budget projects and programs.

Leads project teams through business case / funding approval process, initiation, execution and project closeout in accordance with IT Management Model and PMI standards. These projects have budgets that will typically range from $250K to $15 million.

Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsible and accountable for overall project performance for projects, subprojects, processes, new technology programs, information technology and organizational initiatives.

Ensures project costs, schedule and scope are managed, including the development of recovery plans, to stay within approved limits.

Interface with external and internal stakeholders to coordinate project requirements.

Primary communicator with the sponsor and key stakeholders on project issues, including executive level and interdepartmental presentations.

Ensures a good working relationship between the project team, internal resources, vendors and interfacing organizations.

Coaches and leads team members to ensure completion of assigned tasks.

Identify and obtain project team resources.

Ensures project team members understand their respective responsibilities.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Minimum:

Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Informational Systems or Computer Science or related discipline and 5 - 8 years project management or related experience,

Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or achieve CAPM within two years of job entry (PMP certification will fulfill this requirement)

Demonstrated and documented success at managing projects.

Ability to work independently and as a team leader including the ability to handle conflicting priorities in a multi task environment

Demonstrated strong independent judgment skills

Demonstrated strong interpersonal and time management skills

Preferred:

Master's degree in Project Management, Informational Systems or Computer Science (or advanced technical degree) or Business Administration

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Experience or knowledge of the specific functional area or discipline (e.g., Real Time Systems, Finance, Supply, HR or other Nuclear, Utility, Commercial Retail or Corporate functional areas)

POSITION SCOPE

The Project Manager is an individual contributor accountable for project budgets, team performance and developing strategic plans to implement projects for various organizations. Responsibilities also include managing scope, budget and schedule within approved parameters and providing structured and detailed reports to the appropriate Management team.

Tasks include but are not limited to, ensuring the completion of business cases, budgetary approvals, project scheduling, design and engineering tasks, vegetation management reviews, project reporting, project financial analysis, major equipment procurement, environmental analysis, obtaining real estate and relationship management with external customers, vendors, townships and regulatory agencies. Interacts routinely with key internal and external stakeholders including senior management, the Business customers, and governmental and regulatory officials.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Engage, along with team, peers and leadership, in the development and project delivery of technology solutions & services that support IT and business unit strategy and initiatives within the Finance, Supply & Audit application portfolio. Partner with a team of information technology project management professionals responsible for delivering application & infrastructure focused projects, programs, As-Requested projects and services within Enterprise Wide Solutions. Work with business clients to justify and prioritize small to large sized projects. Lead the execution of small to large sized IT projects & programs maintaining top quartile on time on budget delivery. Participate in the overall leadership of Information Technology organization. Create and maintain strategic relationship with key IT vendors and manage IT vendor contracts that support project delivery. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES * Develop and maintain relationships with IT & business partners, ensure business processes and requirements are identified and well understood, and participate on committees and forums that drive investment and technology strategy for the supported product portfolio. * Lead and manage all aspects of small to large application & infrastructure focused projects and programs. Manage scope, schedule and budget for defined deliverables in accordance with IT Project Management standards. Collaborate with IT and business unit stakeholders in the development of project requirements, budgets and schedules. * Establish and adapt project & program frameworks to achieve results in ambiguous situations. Anticipate issues and obstacles to meeting deliverables and actively engage team, peers, stakeholders and leadership in the triaging and solutioning of options. * Partner with business clients to justify and prioritize project investments. Support 'as requested' business unit projects as assigned. * Champion process improvement, innovation and drive end user adoption of IT services and standards. Embrace and apply high standards on project management governance tools and methods. * Evaluate performance and provide coaching for IT personnel. Promote diversity and foster teamwork, collaboration, Innovation and a learning organization. Provide input on development and retention processes for IT employees. * Manage multiple project budgets totaling over $20 million annually. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Minimum: * Practicing knowledge and understanding of Financial applications and systems * Proven Experience in: o Running and providing oversight on Finance, Treasury, Supply application projects in on-premise and Cloud space o Ability to manage projects within complex environments with high degrees of customizations and integrations. o Practical understanding of development and testing of application components and systems o Adherence to Sarbanes Oxley and other related production control systems * Bachelor's degree in a business (e.g. Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Supply Chain) or technical discipline (e. g. Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering). * Typically, 10 or more years of experience in leading and managing multiple solutions teams at the manager level or higher. * Experience and deep knowledge of the business processes. Previous hands on experience with IT projects and programs. * Demonstrated strategy planning and customer engagement skills and experience leading teams and people through change. * Excellent consultative skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation. Advanced interpersonal skills, communications skills, and presentation skills. * Demonstrated ability to present and discuss complex technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding and approval * Willingness & ability to travel across all Exelon sites in support of project delivery. Travel will vary depending on project and team. Typical regions include Chicago, IL area, Philadelphia, PA area and Baltimore, MD area.
