Senior Project Managers are responsible for the successful management of multiple interiors related projects and client maintenance. This role will mentor and help grow all members of the design team while contributing to the design leadership of the studio. The successful candidate is a team- and practice-builder with drive to contribute to our thriving organization. The role requires actively managing the client experience while balancing an overall, high-level understanding of multiple projects. The skill and ability to both lead and integrate into a diverse team of designers would serve the candidate well in our highly collaborative environment.


Collaborate with Lead Designer/Manager and Design Director to create conceptual design

solutions, which support brand strategy

Manage, train and mentor all levels of Design Team

Monitors the design process from conceptual phase through construction administration, ensuring

the design idea is consistent and properly executed

Fosters a commitment to external and internal client service, acting as a sounding board for

Principal Designer

Participates in team meetings to help resolve project issues, coordination with other disciplines,

schedule adherence, technical issues

Participates in review of project costs and budgets, adherence to schedule

Participate in business development meetings with team leaders to target specified project, client

or market opportunities

Participating in regular team meetings with Lead Designers to propell initiatives around account


Identify, implement and monitor process enhancements for improved effectiveness of

organizational resources

Review design project budgets against actual + remaining forecasted costs. Analyze actuals to

measure accuracy, whether goals will be achieved and to determine areas requiring cost, time

adjustments or program revisions

Managing the project pipeline across multiple clients and production teams

Participates in onboarding new design firms and Principals, understanding their pipeline and

process, and identifying how COUPAR can fit in or overlap within the first 3 months of engagement


Degree in Interior Design

4+ Years professional experience working for high-end interior design firms

Exceptional communication skills required

Strong time management skills and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

inspirational and collaborative leadership

Ability to leverage oneself beyond project-based focus to address greater office and client issues

Communicates effectively across all levels of the organization - from individual contributors to

senior staff

Have an advanced understanding and knowledge of design and construction techniques as it relates

to interior design

Having access to a vehicle is a plus

In this role you will be involved in managing a variety of projects starting from the design/pre-construction phase for commercial projects at a large redevelopment. Responsibilities * Act as Owner's Representative with primary responsibility for all phases of project. * Assist in the development and management of the project strategic plans and program initiatives to meet the goals and needs of the Owner. * Manage and coordinate all aspects of the project, including the budget, schedule, operational needs, procedures, Client Standards, sustainability design, QA/QC program requirements, as well as individual roles and responsibilities. * Review contractor cost estimates and value engineering proposals for validity. * Coordinate with the Architect, Contractor, and other project team members to meet the project objectives and resolve issues. * Assist in the documentation submission of statutory project documentation and approvals related to the project work. * Review, understand, and manage procedures for handling changes to the contract documents, monthly valuations, drawing submissions, change orders, substitutions, etc. * Document the status of the project, all meetings and correspondence as a means to properly communicate within the project team and develop the project documents. Qualifications * BS in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or a closely related field is highly preferred. * 5+ years' of experience in construction project management with experience on lab space or commercial office space projects. * Experience in the design/pre-construction phase of projects including entitlements and permitting. * Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as business presentation skills. * The ability to effectively interface with all levels of management and staff across organizational lines, including other client business units. * Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated success at building team relationships and partnerships across organizational lines.
