Position Purpose:
The Senior Project Manager (SPM) is responsible for providing technical project planning, management and oversight for key initiatives and software implementation projects, ensuring first that these initiatives and projects are closely aligned with Benchmark Education's strategic priorities, and second, that these initiatives and projects are completed on-time, within scope and budget and with high quality of deliverables. The SPM leads and manages IT project and program initiatives ensuring the optimum mix of cost, schedule, performance, and system supportability throughout all phases of service delivery including intake, analysis, design, configuration and build, testing, training, and deployment of solutions through support transition of each product/program. Our SPMs are accountable for all project management aspects including project resources (partners/subcontractors), project planning, scheduling, risk management, scope management, communications, status reporting and resource management, including internal and partners/subcontractors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Expert verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group; developers, product owners, subject matter experts and stakeholders
Exercises delegated authority for planning, directing, coordinating, administering, and executing complex projects/programs
Clarifies and communicates project vision, goals and objectives
Manages project scope and maintains accurate program estimates, timelines, project plans and status reports
Manages and tracks team velocity, financials and relevant KPIs
Identifies critical resource expertise and targets internal and/or external partners for optimal outcomes
Possess understanding of application programming, content systems, API and database systems including Workday
Demonstrated experience in managing medium to complex software development projects
Recommend process improvements
Understands, tracks ,and articulates issues, risks, action items and works with responsible owners to address
Manages tasks, helps set priorities, gather requirements for ongoing Workday enhancements
Job Requirements/Skills and Experience:
6 years + of technical/software project manager experience with gradual increasing responsibilities and a demonstrated understanding of project management processes, artifacts and tools
Works independently to manage ongoing projects and serve as liaison between project resources and stakeholders
Ability to drive milestones with strong attention to detail
Understanding of Agile, SAFe, or other development methodologies
Experience with software development tools, and ticketing systems such as JIRA, Manage Engine.
Demonstrated ability with people management, strategic planning, risk management, project change management
Experience in quality management techniques and approaches.
Cross functional collaboration skills, relationship building skills without direct reporting relationship
Strong oral and presentation communication skills to manage stakeholders
Strong sense of personal responsibility for exceptional quality work
Experience managing Workday or other HRIS implementations preferred
Salary Range: $100,000-$115,000
