We currently have an opening in the New York area for a Design Manager B&F for our Buildings and Facilities division. This person needs to have initiative to actively pursue design issues as they arise (proactive).
Over time this individual will assume all responsibility for a section of the project (i.e. head house or concourse) to manage all coordination, QA/QC, coordination and designer progress for their proscribed section.
This position is contingent upon selection by the Port Authority
Design Manager duties:
Document review (all disciplines)
Attend Design Coordination Meetings as required (represent the PMO with the client, consultants etc. for technical and mid-tier managerial items)
Conduct design coordination follow up meetings
Monthly and Weekly reports (Design)
Support Design Director
follow up on design direction topics
provide subject research/review
manage Design Note process
manage Design action Logs
15+ years of experience
Registered Architect with the AIA (RA)
Strong Design management skills
