Atlas Copco Comptec LLC, located in Voorheesville, NY, is seeking a Senior Project Engineer. The primary objectives of this position include:

Responsible for technical aspects of all assigned projects to ensure that customer contractual requirements are adhered to. Deliver high quality production, communicate well, and practice comprehensive engineering principals within the team.

  • Provide support to project team per the direction of the Engineering Team Leader in executing team projects. This includes but is not limited to: drawing and bills of material review, physical layout of package unit, new component research, verification of design calculations, etc.

  • Issue the order book and continue updating throughout the execution of the project.

  • Review the order book and coordinate with Marketing/Contracts to define and/or clarify detailed scope of supply.

  • Provide and review documents and drawings to and from vendors.

  • Provide detailed purchase specifications for major components such as drivers, coolers, pumps, couplings, blow off valves, inlet guide valves, blow off silencers, inlet valves, inlet filters, flow meters, expansion joints, process isolation valves, separators, sound insulation jackets.

  • Monitor the engineering schedule, job cost and component cost and advise Engineering Team Leader of areas of concern.

  • Coordinate with project team to provide customer's required drawings and documentation within the agreed contract schedule and ensure customer issued documents are issued with high quality.

  • Review the test specification supplied by the test engineer and issue a test specification to manufacturing.

  • Provide documentation and instructions for Instruction and Operating Manual and coordinate with Manuals department for organizing the manual.

  • Assure that the project has been reviewed, properly checked and all procedures are followed before the release of projects to manufacturing.

  • Review and check documents and work from other engineers and other teams as required.

  • Train other engineers on department procedures, best practices, and engineering principals as needed.

  • Maintain accurate, accessible project records, which conform to ACC quality procedures.

  • Comply with Safety Rules, Regulations and OSHA Requirements

What we expect of you?

  • Minimum of a B. S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from accredited college or university

  • Minimum 8 years experience in design and project engineering activities

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to mentor and train other engineers, check and approve the work done by other engineers

The primary objectives of this position include: Responsible for the overall commercial performance of assigned projects, including on-time delivery, Pre-Post Performance and Cash Flow follow up. Primary point of Customer Contact for commercial items, including negotiation of change orders, back charge and LD claims and project schedule notifications. * Responsible for all commercial aspects of assigned projects from the date of Application Engineering kickoff until shipment. * Includes review of customer purchase order prior to acknowledgement of order * Key contact for all commercial correspondence * Coordinate a team environment to support effective project management to meet customer requirements. * Responsible for communicating customer needs to project team and throughout the organization. * Schedule for projects within the team structure for timely execution * Capacity planning of the team. Overtime or need for external resources are planned with the Engineering Manager * Responsible for maintaining continuous cost control of orders which includes; * Monitor budgeted costs versus actual * Coordinate customer management of financial claims * Review and approval of key vendor final invoices prior to payment * Monthly report of team projects containing summary of schedule, list of documents, material status and technical highlights. * Technical responsibility for projects includes: * Review of the order book and coordination with Application Engineering and Engineering Team Leader to define and/or clarify detailed scope of supply. * Coordination with external departments to insure proper project execution. * May require additional hours outside normal office hours and will require travel on occasion to support customer meetings. * Maintain accurate, accessible project records, which conform to ACC quality procedures. * Monitoring of QN/QE Performance for assigned projects * Coordination with finance on release of invoices for progress and final billings * Customer contact for collections and billing issues * Responsible for staffing and professional development of personnel within the project teams with a focus on training * Insure adherence to ISO 9001 and 14001 * To comply with Safety Rules, Regulations and OSHA Requirements What you can expect from us?
