Job Description

Vanir Construction Management, Inc. is seeking a part-time or full-time Senior Project Director to join the team in the Seattle, Washington area. This position will serve public works projects in the Seattle, Bellevue, and Tacoma regions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading business development efforts in the assigned area

  • Leads the team of project managers and construction managers focused on municipal public works projects, energy and transportation projects, and other similar governmental-type projects in Washington state

  • Performs other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent is required

  • 20 years of experience in Project Management in the Seattle, Washington area

  • Knowledge of the local construction market and public contracting rules

  • Has extensive experience overseeing large capital programs for major public institutions

  • Registration as an Architect or Professional Engineer is preferred

  • Certified Construction Manager preferred

During construction, cost estimating support will focus on construction changes and claims negotiation and resolution. A degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred. * A minimum of 10 years' experience in the engineering/construction industry is required. * Strong knowledgeable of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling and have knowledge of industry standard scheduling tools for reporting and tracking program and project activities. In particular, a strong working knowledge of Primavera P6, with emphasis on detail cost-loading techniques is required. * Strong oral and written communications skills are required. * Candidate must be able to work in the United States on a full time permanent basis immediately.
