This position functions as a Civil Engineer within the Project Development section of a Transportation Region performing a variety of duties on transportation improvement projects in the design and construction phases. This position is a member of a projects team, performing as a construction and/or design leader directing projects. This position may also assist the project manager by advising and coaching team members.
This position will have a strong focus on project design functions.

Qualified candidates at the Senior level will have the following:
4-year degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited University or an EIT credential, or Professional Engineer (PE) credential
At least 4 years of transportation engineering project design experience with experience acting as a design project leader. (Experience may include: delivering highway project 30%, 60% and PSE (plans, specifications and estimates); developing design project delivery schedules; preparing or participating in writing Design Study Reports (DSR); interpreting and implementing the Facilities Development Manual (FDM); leading or participating in public involvement meetings; preparing or assisting in agency coordination and project environmental documentation; reviewing and coordinating utility facility conflicts and moves; leading or participating in development of project real estate needs, etc.)
Experience using Civil 3D to design transportation projects.
