Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. is recruiting for a Senior Project Controls Specialist in North Las Vegas, NV.

Qualified applicants will be considered for positions at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada, and/or at the Nevada National Security Site (located 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada).

This position will perform duties as a Senior Project Controls Specialist. Support includes cost and schedule control for multiple projects as assigned by the Project Controls Manager. This position will support and interface directly with the multiple Program and Project Managers in addition to functional team members and other Project Controls Specialists.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor and control multi-year performance measurement baselines, including cost and schedule, baseline management and change control, risk management, subcontract management, earned value management, variance analysis, and estimate at completion
  • Support the development and execution of program, project and functional planning
  • Support for program/project teams in all phases of the project lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution, control, and closure)
  • Manage multiple funding sources from several different customers
  • Develop performance measurement baselines using P6 and integrating into COBRA
  • Assist Project Managers in developing metrics to support the measurement of performance to cost and schedule objectives
  • Perform detailed analysis of project cost, performance, and forecasts
  • Prepare reports to reflect program/project status, cost and schedule trends, funding and project uncertainties
  • Support project deliverables and assist in the development of project reviews for internal and external customer briefings
  • Accept individual responsibility and accountability for environment, safety, health, and quality processes within personal control, personal safety, and the safety of co-workers
  • Comply with established regulations and procedures for environment, safety, health, and quality and perform duties in a way that will not cause personal danger, endanger other individuals, or violate environment, safety, health, and quality regulations
  • Promptly correct or report any hazard or potential hazard to supervision. Participate in and embrace MSTS environment, safety, health, and quality initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Previous P6 and COBRA experience.
  • Developing, maintaining, monitoring and controlling multi-year performance measurement baselines, including cost and schedule, baseline management and change control, risk management, subcontract management, earned value management, variance analysis, and estimate at completion
  • Experience developing performance measurement baselines using P6 and integrating into COBRA
  • Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.

In this position, you will be a part of the onsite Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Team and will perform both injury prevention and injury management (first aid) activities. This position will work in an Amazon Fulfillment Center and report directly to the Site Safety Manager. The Injury Prevention Specialist will be expected to proactively analyze tasks for potential ergonomic and safety issues, perform biomechanical and ergonomic assessments, provide first aid care to injured employees, and execute other Amazon injury prevention activities. The IPS will provide conservative care to injury Associates, but also observe Associates performing their job task and educate them on ways to perform their tasks effectively with less stress to the irritated body part. Onsite IPSs will proactively observe ergonomic practices and educate associates to improve technique prior to the onset of soreness or injury. Detailed Description: * Provide triage, first aid and/ or referral to outside medical provider, if indicated. * Maintain records of first aid care provided to associates. * Minimize the risk of injury of employees through awareness, education and intervention. * Attend and participate at "start-up" meetings to lead daily stretching routines. * Understand and learn each department and communicate the proper techniques on how to prevent soft tissue injuries. * Evaluate trends in soft tissue injuries and develop action items to address injury trends. * Provide daily activity logs to the safety team and senior leadership team. Provide analysis of all onsite incidents on a monthly basis including recommendations on how to reduce the risk and severity of injuries within the warehouse. * Provide accommodation recommendations related to job placement for all employees on restrictions given by a medical provider. * Understand and learn each department and job function within the warehouse to fully understand the body mechanics involved in every task. Be actively involved with improvements to the standard work process. * Frequent "floor time" to interact with both associates and managers, providing coaching on observed at-risk work habits. Attend and speak at daily "start-up" meetings.
