Job Description:

Senior Project Controls Lead

Cardno is seeking an experienced Senior Project Controls Lead to join the team in our Lone Tree, CO office. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing process and control documentation relating to our key programs while working with seasoned finance and operational professionals across the Americas Region reporting directly to the regional Chief Financial Officer. This role requires an ability to communicate effectively operating at a high level, but also having a willingness to dive into the lowest level of details in order to understand the business.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Identify client program related risks and document related processes and procedures to mitigate the risk.

Document client program processes and identify and implement process improvements

Analyze performance and metrics regularly related to project performance and investigate variances.

Support the Area Finance Leads and Project Coordinators with performance reporting and analysis.

Interface with clients and internal management, as needed, to ensure the required deliverables are of high quality and in keeping with Cardno Standards.

Oversee billings to ensure accuracy, timeliness, consistency and compliance with contract requirements, escalating issues as needed.

Coordinate with legal in all contract reviews with both our clients and sub-consultants.

Lead and manage junior members of a team both directly and indirectly.

Support internal/external audit of Cardno Americas financial statements.

Support training and any roll out of new accounting guidance and training.

Experience & Requirements include:

Ability to collaborate with all levels including client representatives, engineering, quality assurance, procurement, project management and other functional leads.

Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors and other key stakeholders.

Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state and federal statues and guidelines.

Must be well organized, deadline oriented and work in a time-effective manner.

Have strong analytical skills, proactive problem solving skills and be self-motivated.

Have a high degree of discretion, confidentiality, professionalism and passion for success.

Have experience in Contracting, Subcontracting and Billing including understanding contract terms, accounting principles and accounting procedures. Experience in Federal contracting is a plus.

Have experience within the Engineering & Construction industry.

Have experience with client relationship management.

Have good computer, written and verbal communication skills.

Prior experience with Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, Outlook, BST and Calumo is preferred.

May require some travel for project assignments in support of business related matters.

Education and Certifications include:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with Accounting emphasis is required.

Five (5) years of technical experience and leadership experience is preferred.

CPA / CPA candidate is preferred.

Other Skills/Abilities include:

May have to lift over 10 pounds.

Volunteer and support the local office events in an effort to build a positive teaming environment.

Maintain a safe work environment.
