PRIMARY POSITION OBJECTIVE: Associate functions as a senior professional aviation architectural discipline lead on major projects and may serve as a Project Manager or Project Director on large, complex multidiscipline projects. Works with the Aviation Building Service Group Leader, Regional Leaders and Project Managers to prepare design development drawings and produce documents through to the construction documents phase. Associate independently supervises the development of architectural plans and specification for a variety of master planning and programming, architectural design and facility development, design detailing, building code analysis, construction document production, and construction administration, coordinating with a diversified team. Associate performs and supervises diverse discipline work tasks requiring extensive architecture, communication, and management expertise to lead project production and quality assurance programs while maintaining profitable operations.
Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited university
Must be a Texas registered architect in good standing and/or able to obtain reciprocity. Ability to obtain registration in Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico a plus.
Minimum 8+ years of related experience
Provide subject matter expertise in planning and design of aviation related facilities at medium and large hub airports
Thorough knowledge of architectural design, drafting, detailing, building materials, building codes, construction techniques and costs
AutoCAD and Revit proficiency strongly desired
Proven knowledge of general architecture practice including programming, site planning, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering
Capable in marketing building-related services to existing and new clients throughout the region.

Knowledge of the aviation market sector's unique challenges for planning, design and regulation is preferred
Collaboration with other architects to create cohesive concepts and achieve project requirements
Provide expertise on codes, quality assurance, and construction methods and materials
Capable of handling multiple projects, being innovative, and able to communicate effectively across multiple disciplines with technical detail
Serve as team leader and the main point of contact for many major architectural issues.
For subordinates, provide guidance, support, and discipline as needed
Responsible for all architectural design aspects of large or complex projects
Ensure project deliverable are met on time and on budget
Delegate work and provide oversight of group work plans
Manage an architectural team of junior and senior architects as well as administrative personnel
Manage Multiple Tasks: Apply sound time and project management to track, prioritize, and complete multiple assigned tasks in fluctuating work environments and multiple distractions (phone calls, appointments, proposals, etc.)
Operates in an environment of accountability and receives only a broad level of administrative or professional direction.
Represents the organization in communications and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of architectural
Active membership in a career-oriented professional or Program-related organization, including participation in developing professional papers or presentations
Participation in community service or charitable organizations is desired
