Join the San Francisco office's creative, inspiring, practice as a partner to office leadership and a champion of financial management best practices.

You will work closely with office leadership and Project Managers to inform and advise them on the finances of the office and projects. You must love creative problem solving and translating numbers into information that your colleagues can understand.

Responsibilities:

  • Team with Project Managers and office leadership to track project financial performance including reviewing project work plans, budgets, and staffing plans for fee alignment; provide project financial training as needed

  • Accounting functions including time and expense reporting, client invoicing, collections, accounts receivable, accounts payable, journal entries, etc.

  • Financial management, cash management, budgeting, forecasting, and sales reporting

  • Reporting and analysis of financial and operational metrics, ad-hoc financial analysis to support executive decision making, budget and variance analysis as requested by the Director of Finance

  • Monthly close of accounting records in conjunction with the Director of Finance

  • Work with the Director of Finance to support the reporting requirements of the firm wide corporate accounting group

  • Maintain good relationships and open communication with regional finance partners, and with other offices on projects that are coordinated across the firm

  • Proactively develop new ideas and solutions to improve financial management of office.

Requirements:

  • Finance/accounting or related degree with 3 to 10 years of accounting experience in a professional services environment, preferably in the architecture or related design field

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage different personalities

  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and time management skills

  • Initiative and ability to work well independently and with others

  • Experience with Deltek Vision or other resource planning tools is preferred

Project Description: We are looking for a motivated, detail-driven Project Accountant with 5+ years of relevant experience. This hardworking, fast-learning individual will work behind the scenes to help keep PGH Wong running smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate is an experienced Microsoft Excel and Word user with a demonstrated history of accuracy, discretion, commitment to high-quality work, and collaborate attitude. This individual will perform a wide variety of accounting tasks in support of our Accounting Department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: * Prepare monthly project invoices, maintain active tracking of receivables, and manage the receivable collection. * Monitor project budgets, prepare monthly project reports and maintain active tracking of project certificates of insurance. * Maintain sub-consultants' information, monitor sub-consultants' budgets, manage the approval paperwork associated with sub-consultant/vendor billings and payments and maintain active tracking of sub-consultants' certificates of insurance. * Verify the accuracy and completion of backup documentations, as well as approval of employees' time and expense, reports billable to projects in compliance with the contract requirements. * Perform all necessary account, bank, and other reconciliations, including preparation of journal entries month-end and annual Form 1099, and assistance with yearly audits.
