Overview

The position will be within JBG SMITH's Accounting department. Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned to meet business needs):

  • Act as a mini-controller for a group of projects and perform all related accounting functions associated with these projects

  • Producing Monthly Lender Draws, Financial statements, and reconciling accounts

  • Support the JBG Development and Management Teams to produce monthly draws and other accounting information

  • Reporting on loan covenants, fund, residential, commercial and condo projects

  • Reconciliation of monthly bank statements

  • Producing monthly distribution and reporting for investors and partners

  • Work with third party auditors on year-end tax and audit

  • Other accounting information required by the position

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required

  • 3-5 years of related accounting experience; Public accounting experience preferred; Big 4 accounting firm experience desired

  • Must be qualified to sit for the CPA exam

  • Team player who is organized, proactive, self-directed, conscientious and assumes accountability and responsibility for specific performance and work product

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing

  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products. Also some experience in Yardi or other accounting software is a plus.
