TEAM AND STRUCTURE

Over the past few years Acrisure has expanded internationally with a small dedicated professional team based out of Grand Rapids. The international expansion has been both organic and through M&A and there is a significant pipeline of acquisitions expected to close in the foreseeable future. The International finance team has now reached a point where an additional proactive professional Senior Accountant with a focus on projects is required to support the growing portfolio of businesses.

The role would require candidates to aid in the overall accuracy and integrity of the agency partners' financial statements. The role is comprised of structured and unstructured weekly, monthly, and quarterly responsibilities with the assistance of the Manager.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities:

  • Manage workload to complete all activities accurately and within established month-end deadlines.

  • Complete reconciliations, journals, schedules, and Adhoc analysis as required.

  • Complete report requests from Agency Partners, Finance, and other internal accounting departments.

  • Research US GAAP and IFRS guidance to accurately review and recommend accounting treatment.

  • Research variances, handle large volume or complex transactions and complete resolution or recommendations.

  • Take ownership of tasks and projects from start to completion within established deadlines.

  • Embrace a culture of continuous improvement developing strategies to maximize efficiencies and unlock capacity.

  • Adaptable to learn team processes independently, provide recommendations for improvement and act as a positive change agent to support a successful implementation.

  • Assist with continuous optimization of Workday functionality and global implementation.

  • Assist with the development of best practice accounting process and training documentation.

  • Assist with development and maintenance of reporting dashboards and month end checklists.

  • Assist with streamlining month end close functional areas with the accounting team and Agency Partners.

  • Build and maintain relationships with Agency Partners and Corporate Accounting team members.

  • Adhere to all systems, procedures, and insurance company regulations within the purview of a control environment.

INDIVIDUAL EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION & SKILL SET

  • Must be able to work on-site at Acrisure's Grand Rapids, MI Studio Park location at least three days per week on a rotation.

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is required (CPA preferred, not required)

  • 3- 5 years progressive work experience in the accounting field is required (project experience preferred)

  • Technology Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Prior experience working with different ERP systems is required.

  • Experience with Workday ERP and Alteryx (preferred but not required)

  • Interpersonal Skills:

  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented, have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Able to work independently and enjoy a high degree of interaction with team members.

  • Ability to contribute to a collaborative global environment by consistently demonstrating teamwork, high motivation, positive behaviour, and effort to achieve goals and objectives.

  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication, including the ability actively listen, and problem solve with minimal assistance.

  • Demonstrates excellent time management and prioritization skills.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to a high level of accuracy.

  • The ability to multitask, prioritize, work independently, and use discretion surrounding sensitive information.

  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanour and positive attitude.

  • Technical Accounting Skills:

  • Knowledge of Financial Statement Consolidations (preferred but not required)

  • Proficient US GAAP is required

  • Knowledge of IFRS and Foreign Currency Translation (preferred but not required)
