General Description: This is an exempt position.
The incumbent will, under limited supervision, provides technical, procedural, and business process support for the district-wide enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and integrated applications, including State and Federal processing. The incumbent will perform systems analysis, application development, documentation creation, training, and support to end-users; function as lead for programming projects; functions as a backup to the Enterprise Systems Administrator for the ERP system security and maintenance. Examples of Duties Essential Functions:
Collaborates with a variety of departments supporting end-users, in developing, analyzing, and reviewing reports to fulfill federal, state, and institutional compliance and reporting requirements Conducts data analysis needs for the purpose of providing information, in support of research projects, data collection and accountability requirements Creates and maintains a variety of software applications through the use of high-level programming languages such as; Envision, SQL, C#, .Net, ASP.Net, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and protocols such as; XML and JSON, fulfilling end-user and system requirements, including technical documentation Troubleshoots, analyzes, and resolves system and software problems Conducts ERP system testing and debugging, and identifies potential issues with current software updates Identifies customizations impacted from software updates, reapplies necessary changes and prepare customizations for installation Conducts testing and installation of custom programs Provides training for the purpose of ensuring the efficient use of the ERP system and related applications Works independently on highly technical and specialized assignments to keep district staff and enterprise applications functioning and current Recommends standards and procedures within the programming area, including specifications, documentation and production turnover, and identifies potential areas where existing standards and procedures require change Advises appropriate personnel on the implications of new or revised systems Leads programming projects from the initial preparation and planning of the project to the installation and completion of the project Participates with vendors in the assessment of advanced technologies, including beta and field testing Provides planning and technical support for enterprise application, implementation and modification projects Analyzes and evaluates enterprise application changes to the production environment Fulfills department requirements in terms of providing work coverage and administrative notification during periods of illness, vacation, or education Plan and manage assigned tasks and projects Other related duties as assigned Knowledge of: Current generation and emerging programming methodology Advanced principles and techniques of computer programming, online programming, and programming documentation Operating procedures of computer systems and related equipment SQL Server Management Studio and related data tools such as SQL Server Analysis Services, MS Reporting Services, and Excel Various programming languages Operating procedures of computer systems and related equipment Advanced principles and practices of database management systems Advanced principles of systems analysis, design , and documentation Enterprise Resource Planning Student Information Systems Human Resource Systems Financial Systems Ability to: Analyze, design, program, install and maintain complex computer systems Identify, evaluate and solve program problems Schedule activities and/or meetings Routinely gather, collate, and/or classify data Effectively function in a setting with tight deadlines and a heavy workload Interact with others using tact, patience, courtesy, and effective listening skills Ability to work effectively and demonstrate currency of knowledge with computers and other forms of advanced technology utilized in providing high-quality services Problem solve, identify issues and create action plans Analyze data, reason logically, draw valid conclusions, and develop effective solutions to system problems Provide project leadership for user department staff, vendors, and information services personnel Advise and educate programmers in the analysis, design, programming, and installation and maintenance of complex computer systems and problem solving Operate and train others to operate a variety of computer software applications and peripheral equipment Read, interpret, and apply complex technical publications, manuals, and other documents Analyze data and develop logical solutions to complex data processing application programming problems Assist others in the creation and updating of required computerized files and records Create and transmit State and Federal files Prepare clear and concise computerized reports Understand and follow oral and written instructions Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing Establish and maintain effective working relationships Establish and meet project schedules and timelines Plan and organize work schedule Promote and incorporate culturally affirming DEIA and anti-racist principles to nurture and create a respectful, inclusive, and equitable learning and work environment.
