Position Overview:

Responsible for designing systems and sub-systems with specific focus on creating and maintaining a data platform. Develops specification for new and existing systems. Strong understanding of the overall business and application usage within business. Provides recommendations on technical solutions to business needs in the organization. Provide technical direction to solve business problems.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical guidance and mentorship to team of software developers.

  • Orchestrates technical solutions for data integration to improve business operations.

  • Manage technical scope of projects from inception to close. Define, develop, and manage implementation schedules. Highlighting risks and issues to Data and Integration Manager, CTO Leadership Team, and stakeholders.

  • Collaborates with architects and takes leadership role in product and tool selection for the development of specifications for new and existing systems.

  • Liaise with stakeholders, including the Chief Data Officer function and vendor management, to enhance data capabilities and automate data quality processes.

  • Lead development projects in a Scrum Agile setting, ensuring adherence to software development methodologies and procedures.

  • Creates and implements design plans.

  • Proactively recommend solutions considering costs, business needs, and system impacts while staying abreast of industry trends and technological developments.

  • May have supervisory responsibility over employees.

  • Collaborate with business analyst to perform Data modelling.

Qualifications for Lead Analyst:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or technically related field, or equivalent education/experience.

  • Minimum of 8 years work experience.

  • Masters degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related technical field with 6 years' experience is also acceptable.

Qualifications for Senior Analyst:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or technically related field, or equivalent education/experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience.

  • Masters degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related technical field with 3 years experience is also acceptable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate risks and issues.

  • Certifications related to AWS and Snowflake, with extensive experience in Data & Integration, particularly in building data platforms.

  • Record of continued education in Scrum methodologies, including training, conferences, and self-study.

  • Experience working in agile teams using tools such as Jira and Confluence.

  • Proficiency in programming languages like SQL, Python, Parquet, AWS services, Java, JavaScript, R scripting, etc.

  • Experience with REST or GraphQL APIs.

  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms, cloud services, cloud-based databases, and cloud security.

  • Strong negotiation, persuasion, analytical, and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to resolve complex problems and errors in processes and applications.

  • Understanding of DevSecOps methods to improve development and operational efficiencies, including cloud deployment, migration, and automation (CI/CD).

Job and compensation levels depend upon an applicant's qualifications including the extent of candidate's relevant experience and other job-related factors and will be determined by hiring supervisors/managers and HR.
