As a member of the RTI Global Talent Development (GTD) Division each Senior Program Manager (SPM) will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying enterprise level Leadership and Career Development Programs for all levels of employees including management and leaders. The SPM will work in partnership with the Director of Global Talent Development and members of the Global Talent Development Team to ensures all leaders at RTI are developing requisite capabilities necessary to lead and develop staff and meet business results today and in the future. The SPM will work with global stakeholders and partners to determine what learning and development (L&D) content and channels best enables RTI managers and leaders that produce desired business outcomes and reinforce the leadership culture at RTI. Using a highly collaborative and consultative approach, the SPM will work closely with consultants, instructional designers, developers, and others to determine whether offerings in the portfolio meet the needs of the business as well as partner closely with other stakeholders within the Human Resources team and across the business to build comprehensive talent development solutions. The SPM will have a learning and development portfolio mix that includes leadership, business development, project management, scientific stature, risk/required training, collaboration, and core functional and professional skills. The portfolio will be divided amongst two SPM and work in concert with the Director.

  • Carry out plan for L&D portfolio mix that includes leadership, business development, project management, scientific stature, risk/required training, collaboration, and core functional and professional skills.

  • Establish and implement ongoing portfolio curating plan for all offerings within the learning and development portfolio including selection of external vendors, suppliers, facilitators, coaches, assessments, and curation of available open source content like MOOCs, articles, podcasts, etc.

  • Manage relationships with other RTI content providers and with other vendors for content in leadership development portfolio.

  • Gain support of relevant team members for building/buying courses, and curating decisions

  • Assemble effective, scalable, and affordable curricula.

  • Partner with instructional designers/developers to establish clear, behavioral-based, relevant learning objectives for new or updated offerings within assigned portfolios

  • Review and validate designs with instructional designer/developers at key development milestones.

  • Maintain industry knowledge and awareness of trends related to leadership and management.

  • Provide key thought partnership to the L&D team in executing the vision and strategy of the learning development portfolio as a leader in the space.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, organizational training, organizational development, corporate education, performance support, or equivalent; master's degree in adult learning/education, leadership, organization development, change management, etc. required.
  • 10+ years of experience internal or external learning role including design, development, facilitation, program management, and curriculum development, within career, management, and leadership development domain.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven track record of designing, developing, and implementing effective learning/talent development programs and solutions that are practical, realistic, and scalable; proven ability to translate learning theory into practical, consumable, and scalable solutions is critical

  • Background in change management consulting, instructional design/ development, and implementation of learning and development solutions, with a mix of formal and informal elements aligned to the 70-20-10 model (e.g. experiential, social and connections, formal) and omnichannel methodology

  • Excellent training and facilitation skills and expertise

  • Experience working in a globally matrixed environment, with a track record of balancing global and geographic needs to produce impactful business outcomes

  • Highly consultative approach and a proven track record of effective collaboration and influence at all levels of an organization, with demonstrated capability to achieve goals in a fast-paced and continuously evolving environment

  • Ability to work in and manage ambiguity, uncertainty, and volatility, including dealing with issues, problems, and events that do not always have a process, system, or solution in place

  • Demonstrated ability to clearly identify meaningful business impact and success metrics for L&D solutions, and a proven track record of analyzing and reporting on these measures in a practical and salable manner

  • Ability to act and address any solutions that are not producing the desired impact

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and translate complex, strategic ideas or concepts in a business and user-friendly manner

  • Have a high level of comfort in Learning Management Systems, eLearning development platforms, and learning analytics

  • Demonstrated capability in project management

  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to manage changing priorities, handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and adapt to a changing business environment

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to function independently and as part of a team with a positive attitude, grit, resilience, strong work ethic and commitment to excellence

  • Outstanding customer service, high level of initiative, and problem-solving skills

  • Oral and written fluency in the English language, and additional languages a plus
