The position has the option to be located in Nashville TN or Arlington VA.

Amazon is seeking a candidate to identify, develop and integrate innovative solutions and programs that lead to improvements that redefine the standards for customer experience in our North American transportation network. Amazon transportation encompasses all of the operations that deliver shipments from our fulfillment centers and third party locations to customers worldwide.

As a Senior Program Manager on the Transportation Initiatives Team, you will focus on delivering a medium-term planning to be used by all Transportation Stakeholders across the North American transportation network.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in program or project management

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Transportation Logistics, or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in program management, logistics, operations, supply chain, or transportation or equivalent professional or military experience

  • Demonstrated experience leading and owning cross-functional programs

  • Demonstrated experience owning the design, implementation, and optimization of initiatives

  • Experience with data mining and data analysis

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.

  • Experience with analytical tools such as SQL, Tableau, or Microsoft Access

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Research, MBA or related field

  • Organizational skills with keen attention to detail

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions

  • High level familiarity with data mining or machine learning

  • Experience developing forecasting models

  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders and driving consensus

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment

  • Executive level written and oral communication skills

As a Program Manager for Transportation Engineering Systems Team, (TESS), you will work closely with Business Analysts and Business Intelligence Engineers to drive data-driven decision-making and use broad technical skills to build analytics and reporting capabilities. TESS manages transportation network configuration by working with different internal stakeholders and systems, to deliver desired business outcomes. We work at the intersection of business and systems. This role will directly influence the decisions and strategy of TESS by gathering customer needs and insights and mining large and diverse data sets. This position will work with directly with business leaders and teams along with various stakeholders to track business goals and initiatives.
