Job Summary

Responsible for the effective and profitable management and delivery of end-to-end PMC services for a key client, a complex program, or program or combination of programs with a program value of >=$1B.

Essential Responsibility

  • Acts as the client's agent in delivering complex PMC services for key clients in the areas of strategic planning, alternative delivery, innovative financing, procurement/contract management, risk management, project controls, quality management, construction management, project closeout and acceptance, and operations/maintenance.

  • Routinely resolves difficult issues of significant financial impact, assessing and managing risk on behalf of the client.

  • Identifies opportunities to advance HNTB's presence and revenue opportunity in the PMC space, leveraging nationally acknowledged reputation to pursue and land those opportunities.

  • Nationally well-known expert in their respective industry with well-established strong client connections. Represents HNTB with state and national industry organizations.

  • Interacts with executive level government or public officials and/or executive level clients on advanced program matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

  • Responsible for defining staffing needs for the delivery of services, providing direction and oversight to Project Managers, other staff, client staff and subcontractors.

  • Has an awareness and understanding of the political environment and sensitivities in which a program is being delivered.

  • Able to lead HNTB team in understanding client perspectives and vision of success while keeping staff connected to firm culture and organization.

  • Develops a deep understanding of full range of HNTB services and firm-wide resources.

  • Leads the development of client service action plans and client project reviews.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualification Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline 15 years relevant experience

Preferred Qualification/Skills- Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline

  • 10 years combination of - a) proven program mgmt. and/or senior PMC role; - b) managing or leading a team in successful delivery of PMC projects; or - c) alternative project delivery experience

  • California Professional Engineer

  • Prior Transportation Infrastructure design/build experience General Work Conditions Office Environment: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently, and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use.

About Transmission and Distribution Southern California Edison's (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE's 5 million customer accounts. Position Overview The Senior Manager of Streetlight Program Management is responsible for support to streetlight operations, interaction with SCE's streetlight customers across SCE's service territory as well as the development and implementation of short and long term strategies regarding streetlight operations and asset utilization. Streetlight operations includes the repairs, annual inspection of SCE's streetlight facilities, inventory mapping, sale of streetlight systems, updating of all customer records for inventory, billing changes, customer issue resolution, and business planning. In addition, the Senior Manager of SPM is responsible for the Project Management of SCE's capital investment in streetlights of approximately $50 million per year, including LED conversions, steel pole replacements, and fixture replacements. The Senior Manager is also responsible for providing leadership and guidance on regulatory activities affecting street light operations and customers, and ensuring implementation of requirements resulting from regulatory activities. Responsibilities may include: * Provide leadership and overall strategy for streetlight operations, relationships with SCE's streetlight customers, capital investment and asset utilization, and to create a positive high performing work environment for a staff of management and represented employees. * Collaborate with affected organizations to improve operational efficiencies, improve response times for streetlight repairs, and increase the level of service to SCE's customers. * Provide strategy, leadership, direction, coaching and mentoring for a staff of approximately 25 management and represented employees. * Participate in the development and execution of strategies and operational plans regarding Streetlight Operations affecting Distribution, Customer Service, Grid Operations and other affected operating units. * Build and strengthen working relationships with other stakeholders and organizations across Distribution, Customer Service and Grid Operations involved in the repair, maintenance and investment in streetlight assets. * Establish standard performance targets, monitor progress, and publish monthly performance reports to provide operations, leadership, and stakeholders with performance status regarding the repair, maintenance, and investment in streetlight assets. * Manage financial planning responsibilities and overall coordination with T&D Business Planning and Corporate Finance for the organization including the integration of budgets, forecasting, and emergent items associated with the Streetlight Program. * Evaluate opportunities to implement technology that may enhance operations and/or customer service. Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related technical discipline. * Five years of experience leading, managing or supervising an organization, unit, or teams.
