In the last decade, the emergence of cloud computing revolutionized nearly every business and industry. We believe that the next era will be defined by extending the capabilities of this intelligent cloud out from large datacenters into the real world where data is generated, like in factories, retail stores, and on the road. The Azure Edge Operations is a newly founded team strategically positioned to drive this expansion.

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Senior Program Manager who is an organized self-starter with a proven track record in driving initiatives from thought to implementation.

You will own and drive customer facing logistics operations for our Azure Edge products and drive improvements to scale our operational capabilities. To succeed in this role, you should have strong operations skills, and experience with customer facing operations, backed-up by customer service skills, customer empathy, and a passion for exceeding customers' expectations. Past experience in successfully orchestrating multi-stakeholder efforts towards common targets is required for this role.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • 8+ years of customer facing operations experience.

  • Proven success working in a complex environment and across a diverse set of business, engineering, and operational stakeholders.

  • Detail oriented and data driven - proven ability to drive operations through data analysis, tracking trends and success metrics and prioritizing issues and actions based on data insights.

  • Past proven experience in implementing business scorecards - familiarity with data aggregation, SQL queries and visualization front ends like Power Bi.

  • High customer empathy and awareness - proven experience interacting with customers in technical support roles, understanding customer needs and passionate for supporting customers.

  • Self-driven, willing to take on big challenges, dealing with ambiguity and fast changing conditions.

  • Solid written as well as oral communication skills and adept in interfacing with both technical as well as non-technical stakeholders.

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Solid familiarity with the Azure Cloud and related technologies, Azure Edge, Azure cloud service architecture, deployment, and configuration

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure our Edge customers have a great frictionless experience with our products, such that operations become invisible to them.

  • Partner with field, Support, Engineering and Business PMs to optimize our customers' experience, troubleshoot operational and logistic issues and provide customer guidance.

  • Identify opportunities, own and drive activities to automate, streamline and scale operations:

  • Define and implement operational scorecards, track metrics and trends, and RCA issues to uncover gaps, prioritize and drive improvements with relevant stakeholders.

  • Own identifying and driving operational improvements within the operations team as well as through Engineering.

The Program Manager will drive collaboration of cross-functional teams as the company releases new products/features to scale the offering. The Program Manager will act as the internal liaison between R&D, marketing, QA, and other functional groups to schedule projects, drive timely launches, budget resources, report progress, and roadmap requirements to prepare several projects for commercialization. The Program Manager has no direct reports but will, on a specific project basis, direct efforts of engineers, technicians, designers, and outside consultants. The ability to organize, lead, and motivate people toward the achievement of a common goal is a primary requirement for the position. The Program Manager will interact internally with members of the marketing and software development teams, and externally with the medical community, vendors and consultants. Specifically, this role directly manages projects for digital health software and enabling technology programs, but will coordinate with other robotics, surgical, and software programs across the Smith & Nephew organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Serve as a core team leader/project manager of significant and complex strategic projects. Direct responsibility for delivering key products on time, within budget, and with minimal longterm sustaining engineering required. * Interface with all levels of staff and management in the negotiation and exchange of information. Develop and cultivate cross-departmental relationships. Collaborate with key project sponsors in bringing together a full range of cross-functional expertise and competencies necessary for the successful commercialization of targeted projects. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and budgets for assigned projects. Drive the tactical project execution. Routinely report on the status of the project relative to the schedule and budgets. * Act as Product Owner for a few key software development projects (ie: work with R&D manager to align R&D plan with marketing requirements, create user stories in Jira from VOC and other inputs, help groom/maintain Jira Backlogs and sprints). * Participate in Engineering Design Reviews, Vendor Review Meetings, and other cross-functional meetings, as needed. Document the proceedings and follow up on any incomplete action items. * Assist in revising existing R&D policies, procedures, and processes. Participate in writing new procedures, where appropriate. * Assist QA in maintaining procedures and processes to help organize and track QA testing activities * Contribute to the Design History File (DHF). Ensure a quality focus and that customer needs are met. This includes participating in design control discussions including requirements, risk management, product design reviews, software bug resolution meetings, verification & validation planning, and design transfer planning. * Assist in the creation of accurate forecasts for products and work cross-functionally to ensure the delivery of those forecasts. * May supervise tasks of members of project team where appropriate and when needed.
