The PG&E Energy Efficiency (EE) group focuses on inspiring and empowering our customers to eliminate unnecessary energy use, reduce their carbon footprint and save money. We manage a diverse portfolio of products and strategic programs that expertly deliver the right solutions across all customer segments, sizes, geographic locations and engagement preferences. As the nation's largest EE program, PG&E is helping to transform markets, set building codes and appliance standards and be the marker by which all other utilities are measured.

This position is within PG&E's Non-Residential Energy Efficiency Programs team in the Energy Efficiency group, supporting our Strategic Energy Management (SEM) Programs that serve non-residential customers (business).

Position Summary

The Senior Program Manager will work closely with the SEM Lead Program Manager to support the operations of the SEM Program, and the implementation and operational success of any changes and enhancements to the SEM workflow within Energy Insight (EI). Responsibilities typically include some or most of the following in support of the SEM program to ensure attainment of program metrics objectives.

  • Manages the lifecycle of all Deemed, Custom and meter-based projects for the SEM Program in EI

  • Managing data quality, ensuring complete and accurate project records

  • Implementing process changes based upon program and organizational needs

  • Review and validate project documentation to complete payment processing

  • Collaboration with various stakeholders (Business Energy Solutions, Technology Enablement, Policy and Reporting, Quality Control) to develop processes that meet organizational needs cross-functionally

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The preferred work location is Oakland, CA.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $102,000

Bay Area Maximum: $162,000

Job Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will develop processes to analyze data, produce reports, document, and report financial and contract targets, and have an ability to work cross-functionally, and with external stakeholders, to support operation of the SEM program,

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for multiple aspects of support to the SEM program including:

  • Accurately estimate Total System Benefit (TSB) and financial forecasts based on project delivery and program participant information

  • Develop efficient processes for data sharing with vendors

  • Project manage changes and improvements to the program regarding the SEM workflow within EI

  • Coordinate with Energy Efficiency policy and reporting teams to ensure project reporting is accurate in comparison to project records within EI

  • Manage program documentation and invoicing

  • Identify processes needing improvement and work toward change management with team and vendors

  • Other tasks as necessary

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 6yrs of related experience

Desired:

  • Experience with Strategic Energy Management programs

  • Project Management and Contract Management experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to effectively communicate with leadership and support organizations

  • Strong ability to take initiative to work independently to achieve desired results

  • Experience working cross-functionally to deliver projects with numerous stakeholders

  • Experience in knowledge management and process improvement projects, including the ability to build and refine processes from scratch in an environment with rapidly evolving requirements

  • Experience performing analysis on large data sets

  • Understanding of Evaluation, Measurement and Verification (EM&V) concepts

  • Knowledge of EE and/or Demand Side Management programs

  • Management of regulatory compliance, planning, and reporting activities

  • Knowledge/experience of financing operations, accruals, and analysis

  • Experience managing budgets and contracts

  • Comfortable operating or learning to operate internal tracking systems such as SAP, Ariba, Salesforce etc.
