The Senior Program Manager will manage assigned programs/projects from contract acceptance through production using established business unit practices and procedures while meeting customer requirements, within budget and in a timely manner. Key elements include an organized, data-driven, hands-on approach, leadership, and overall business acumen. Experience in a manufacturing environment and a bachelor's degree is required. Prior experience in aerospace and defense is a plus. PMP and/or IMS Certifications are also required.
This position reports directly to the Director, Operations & Program Management
Key Responsibilities
Partner with Engineering, Sales, and Production teams to deliver results
Responsible for program schedules, task prioritization, risk assessment, and customer communication for a variety of programs
Proactively identify trends/risks/opportunities and execute risk mitigation actions to ensure the project achieves its commitments
Act as primary liaison between AMETEK and the customer to ensure timely, professional response on project-related deliverables
Ensure adequate support to the program teams by coordinating regular program reviews, preparing & publishing program metrics and reports
Effectively communicate, schedule, and ensure execution of program deliverables across internal functional groups
Management of cross-functional team to meet contractual customer requirements
Identify and manage any potential scope creep. Negotiates with the customer to address any changes to product requirements
Provides technical advice and knowledge as needed on projects
Requirements for Consideration
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline
PMP or PMI accreditation
7+ years' experience in program management in a manufacturing environment
Working Knowledge of Project Management and Project Teams Dynamics
Bilingual in Spanish a plus
Highly organized individual with the ability to assess program risks (both schedule and technical) and implementation of appropriate action plans
Experience managing program costs
Highly motivated individual with outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Prior experience motivating teams to project completion without the benefit of a direct management reporting relationship
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
Continuous improvement mindset highly desired
Engineering background with prior product design experience a plus
Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing experience a plus
Familiarity with global aerospace and defense markets and sensor technologies a plus
