Advocates for Human Potential, Inc., is seeking a senior program associate to help manage projects; attend to fiscal concerns; complete project deliverables; carry out meeting, training, and technical assistance activities; and promote new business.About AHPAHP influences change in health and business systems to support vulnerable populationsfrom creating policy to ground-level, hands-on work. We help organizations and individuals reach their full potential through professional consulting; research, evaluation, and data analytics; technical assistance and training; and virtual solutions, publications, and events.Our areas of expertise include behavioral health, mental health policy and services, substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, workforce development, homelessness, housing and employment programs, trauma-informed care, criminal justice, women and children, veterans, health care reform, health information technology, and population health management.Job Duties The employee initiates or takes direction on the following and other unlisted tasks: * Helps manage projects * Manages small projects and tasks within large projects, including workplans, deliverables, and staffing *
  • Creates standard operating procedures, monitors/evaluates project performance, and conducts quality control *
  • Manages subcontractors and consultants, including creation of statements of work and contract work * Attends to fiscal concerns * Develops and manages budgets of specific tasks, including invoice approval * Handles Deltek planning, review, and analysis * Completes project deliverables * Develops written and online materials (e.g., templates, reports, presentation slides, guidebooks, planning documents, listserv announcements, website content, online surveys)* Conducts in-depth research, key informant interviews, and literature reviews to support assignments in relation to training and technical assistance activities * Creates evaluation questions and data-gathering instruments in relation to training and technical assistance activities * Establishes measurement-based practices to evaluate outcomes in relation to training and technical assistance activities * Compiles, summarizes, and analyzes data in relation to training and technical assistance activities * Carries out meeting, training, and technical assistance activities * Plans meeting agenda and prepares supporting materials * Facilitates and otherwise contributes to meetings * Prepares formal notes of external meetings, clarifying commitments and follow-up action * Prepares content of webinars (brainstorms topics, identifies speakers, writes learning objectives)* Develops curriculum and training materials and manuals * Delivers online/onsite training and education (hosts/moderates webinars, serves as subject matter expert)* Provides guidance to speakers on content * Develops pre-tests and satisfaction assessments to help determine the effectiveness of training sessions in relation to training and technical assistance activities * Promotes new business * Co-authors proposals and external communication materials * Contributes to strategic marketing plans and identifies opportunities to forge partnershipsKnowledge and TraitsCandidates with the following knowledge and traits are encouraged to apply:General * Social policy on health and human service topics * Organizational development and cross-system collaboration * Ability to provide formal training * Ability to provide in-person and virtual technical assistance to providers/client * Budget planning, implementation, and oversight * Task management * Ability to lead teams in small project assignments * Ability to supervise and mentor one-two staff membersTechnical * Proficiency with Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Skype for Business * Familiarity with SharePoint and virtual meeting platforms * Willingness to learn and use new software as neededFundamental CompetenciesCandidates must display the following skills and abilities: * Communication: Conveys information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing; practices active listening * Initiative: Works independently, pursues opportunities to contribute to the companys mission and teams goals * Interpersonal relations: Demonstrates cultural sensitivity, interacts with colleagues and clients professionally * Problem-solving: Analyzes situations objectively, generates solutions * Quality assurance: Attends to detail, follows standard operating procedures * Teamwork: Works collaboratively with team members, takes appropriate action on constructive feedback * Time management: Respects deadlines, prioritizes multiple and emerging demandsEducation and TrainingCandidates for this position must possess a bachelors degree. A masters degree in social work, behavioral health, public health, or similar field is strongly preferred.
