Job Summary:

The position will provide technical assistance and administrative support to the AFRL/RI Special Security Officer (SSO) in the administration and systems management of a Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) facility at the Air Force Research Laboratory, Information Directorate, Rome, NY.

Responsibilities:

  • Process actions with regards to sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) for accreditation and reaccreditation.

  • Maintain local database, enter incident reports in SCIF management center.

  • Prepare facility accreditation packages; conduct annual self-assessments.

  • Process actions for SCIF Co-Utilization (CUA) and SCIF Joint Utilization (JUA) requests.

  • Maintain local files and local database.

  • Conduct audits and equipment inventories as necessary for SCIF management.

  • Familiar with COMSEC equipment and materials in support of current operations.

  • Provide tracking of equipment supplied to off-site locations.

  • Update and enter data into electronic files or systems (SIMS).

  • Access DD254 Security Agreements for SCIF management.

  • Provide limited assistance to the SSO and assigned Information Security Specialist for the safeguarding and storage of classified materials, working papers, engineer notes, conference and meeting materials, and the use of electronics for scanning documents for electronic storage.

  • Use various office automation applications to produce a wide range of documents, formats, etc.

  • Use word processing software to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve, and print forms, memos, and letters and lengthy reports; uses existing database or spreadsheet software to create, enter, revise, sort or calculate, and retrieve data for reports.

  • Use graphics software to provide graphs and charts for reports and presentations.

  • Provide administrative actions; transmits and receives documents and messages electronically using personal computers or workstations that are networked or linked to other computers or workstations.

  • Consolidate information obtained from system and files for various reports in accordance with established reporting procedures.

  • Collect and summarize information from files and documents for supervisor's or other staff members to use in responding to inquiries, recognizing which information is or is not relevant to the issue at hand.

  • Proofread/edit correspondence and documents for correct grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and format.

  • Establish, update, and maintain SCIF records of various types.

  • Use a variety of automated systems (e.g., records management, electronic forms, electronic publications library, time and attendance, etc.) and non-automated to perform various clerical duties.

  • The receipt, control, logging, safekeeping, and necessary action on classified materials.    

Requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen.

  • Must have an active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

  • Five (5) or more years of experience providing administrative or technical support to federal agencies/departments or US military.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Experience operating on US Government networks and systems.

  • Successful background and drug screening check.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Familiarity with Air Force Records Management requirements.

  • Experience with receipt, control, logging, and safekeeping of classified documents.

  • Experience with Personnel Security Systems (JPAS, DISS, Scattered Castles, etc.)

  • Experience with SCIF Co-Use (CUA) and Joint-Use (JUA) agreements.
