As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists and engineers, you will design and implement production processes in our new Huntsville, Alabama rocket engine facility. As the Senior Production System Manager, you will support manufacturing teams by building a world-class production culture in line with methods of Lean Manufacturing. Our team leads capability assessments to gauge progress and partners with site leadership to build roadmaps for future implementation efforts. Our data and analytics team is ready to partner with you to develop and implement data driven systems for reporting through dashboards and metrics. You will facilitate development of Leadership Standardized Work across the site. By acting as a dedicated mentor and coach along with personally leading improvement activities, you will instill the principles of standard work and continuous improvement. We will use your knowledge in establishing visual workspaces, 5-S, value stream mapping and understanding how to spot and remove production bottlenecks. You will help guide our Industrial Engineering teams with line-balancing activities and coordinate across all Blue manufacturing sites to communicate and establish standards.

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering or Science with demonstrated experience in a manufacturing setting

  • Solid understanding and applied experiences with either Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or the Toyota Production System

  • Outstanding interpersonal and analytical skills and a consistent track record of driving sophisticated projects with minimal guidance

  • Demonstrated resourcefulness and success from previous assignments while working with interdisciplinary teams

  • Experience leading organizations through initiatives that influence culture by deploying tools & processes to improve competencies

  • Highly effective and professional verbal and written communication skills with team, customers and suppliers that includes a strong focus on teamwork and internal/external customer satisfaction

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


  • Experience in both Development and Production environments, preferably in aerospace, medical devices, automotive, or other engineered products within a regulated industry

  • Design for manufacturability experience in bringing new products into production

  • Experience in a small company and/or startup environment

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and knowledge of materials management theories, processes and practices

This position serves as an integral member of the Provider Contracting Team and reports to the Vice President of Provider Contracting. This role is a key contributor to the development of the strategic direction and is accountable for the management of contracting and network management activities for the Alabama market. RESPONSIBILITIES * Directly manages a contracting team or geography, providing leadership and mentoring to their direct reports. * Manages increasingly complex contracts and negotiations for fee for service and sophisticated value-based reimbursements with hospitals and other providers (e.g., Hospital systems, Ancillaries, and large physician groups) for one or more geographies. * Proactively builds relationships that nurture provider partnerships and seeks broader value-based business opportunities to support the local market strategy. * Initiates, nurtures and maintains effective channels of communication with matrix partners including but not limited to, Claims Operations, Medical Management. Credentialing, Legal, Medical Economics, Compliance, Sales and Marketing and Service. * Manages strategic positioning for provider contracting, develops networks and identifies and acts upon opportunities for greater value-orientation and risk arrangements. * Identifying and implementing alternative network initiatives. Supports and provides direction to develop network analytics required for the network solution. * Responsible for meeting unit cost targets, while preserving an adequate network, to achieve and maintain Cigna's competitive position. * Identify and manages initiatives that improve total medical cost and quality. * Drives change with external provider partners by assessing clinical informatics and offering consultative expertise to assist with total medical cost initiatives. * Prepares, analyzes, reviews, and projects financial impact of high spend or increasingly complex provider contracts and alternate contract terms. * Creates and / or oversees the development of "HCP" agreements that meet internal operational standards and external provider expectations. Ensures the accurate implementation, and administration through matrix partners. * Assists in resolving elevated and complex provider service complaints. Researches problems and negotiates with internal/external partners/customers to resolve highly complex and/or escalated issues. * Manages key provider relationships and is accountable for critical interface with providers and business staff. * Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of providers in an assigned geographic area through understanding the interrelationships as well as the competitive landscape. * Responsible for accurate and timely contract loading and submissions and interface with matrix partners for network implementation and maintenance. REQUIREMENTS * Should possess a bachelor degree; preferably in the areas of Finance, Economics, Healthcare or Business related. Significant industry experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor degree. MBA or MHA preferred. * Minimum of 8 years contracting and negotiating experience involving complex delivery systems and organizations required. * Prior experience managing direct reports and leading project teams in a non-centralized work environment preferred. * Experience in developing and managing key provider relationships including senior executives. * Knowledge of complex reimbursement methodologies, including incentive based models required. * Demonstrated experience in seeking out, building and nurturing strong external relationships with provider partners. * Intimate understanding and experience with larger, more complex integrated delivery systems, managed care, and provider business models. * Team player with proven ability to develop strong working relationships within a fast-paced, matrix organization. * The ability to influence both sales and provider audiences through strong written and verbal communication skills.
