Location: This position is based on-site in Newburyport, MA. The position holder will need to be within commuting distance (within 45 min). The position will be on-site full time.

Senior Production Planner / Scheduler Summary:

The Production Planner / Scheduler is responsible for preparing a resource specific production schedule and processing paperwork for the production area.

Senior Production Planner / Scheduler Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Drives daily production meeting for area of responsibility.

• Acts as the primary liaison between customer service and production.

• Synchronizes production schedules between departments.

• Identifies and escalates any material shortfalls.

• Communicates with purchasing in advance of creating production schedule.

• Acknowledges new orders to customer service within established time frames.

• Monitors Safety Stock levels as required.

• Engineers, firms, adjusts quantities and completion dates, and releases all production jobs.

• Uses the ERP system to adjust and confirm a production schedule for each resource.

• Coordinates with Material Handling to ensure raw materials are staged.

• Communicates schedule adjustments with the Production Supervisor and area Team Leads.

• Establishes a daily, weekly and monthly production schedule with the goal to achieve and maintain on time delivery to target service level.

• Evaluates production schedule and communicates forecasted sales figures to management.

• Monitors capacity levels for each resource and recommends equipment and staffing level changes to support growth trends. Works with immediate supervisor to develop justification of new equipment as needed.

• Plans OT requirements with Production Supervisor and area Team Lead.

• Ensure VMI levels are sufficient for production needs.

• Maintains all MRP system modifiers to ensure system is utilized optimally (MRP time fences, Days of Supply, Min on Hand, Min and Max lot size, production calendars, finite/infinite capacity, etc.).

• Fluent in analysis and manipulation of ERP system data.

• Acts as liaison with R&D to coordinate use of production resources.

Senior Production Planner / Scheduler Education / Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and 5+ years manufacturing experience desired.

• ERP Scheduling, forecasting and capacity modeling experience.

• Epicor experience a plus.

• Knowledge of quality system procedures and work instructions.
