Role & Responsibilities

The Technology team is responsible for frontend and backend engineering, design, product, infrastructure, advertising, AI, safety, and observability. We are responsible for delivering experiences that help SmartNews live up to its name. Our product teams deliver our experience to customers on iOS, Android, and the Web.

As a product engineer at SmartNews, you will work on the cutting edge of product development, UX, and AI while leveraging world class infrastructure, ranking, and content. You'll improve, transform, and grow the news experience for millions of people around the world in line with our mission. You will also be expected to rapidly iterate and learn in a fast-paced, collaborative, and international culture.

What you'll be doing

• Update, improve, transform, and deliver the SmartNews experience on iOS, Android, and the Web

• Balance an opinionated, high-speed, and rapid-iteration mindset with the responsibility of meeting the needs of millions of users and internal teams

• Learn new skills as needed to deliver the best possible experience on different platforms
