We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, Sr. Product Marketing Manager to help define and execute the go-to-market strategy for Akamai's enterprise security products. You will be a voice for Akamai's enterprise solutions to internal and external audiences including customers, sales, industry and financial analysts and media. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy and the drive to help make Akamai's product goals a reality.
About the Team
Akamai's Enterprise Division has high expectations to become the company's next big growth engine. Our Enterprise Go-to-Market (GTM) team comprises all aspects of sales and marketing including sales, technical pre-sales, channels, and marketing. This dynamic team is responsible for the success of the GTM strategy in accelerating sales growth, driving pipeline, building repeatable sales models, and ensuring market awareness and thought leadership across key verticals, with a focus on the corporate CIO, CISO and IT buyers. You will be part of a team with a start-up mentality to build a business for our Enterprise security products. Our goal is to assist our customers in attaining their cloud and security transformation strategies by securing, protecting, and optimizing all enterprise applications, users, and devices as a service in the cloud.
You will work closely with sales, product management, campaign marketing, marketing communications, and sales to ensure the proper market positioning and messaging for the enterprise product portfolio.
You will work as part of an experienced team of marketers responsible for the success of enterprise security products.
Ensure GTM plans align with divisional strategy and support revenue and customer attainment goals that include existing and new customer accounts.
Key member of cross functional team responsible for product launches.
Create white papers, sales communications, presentations, competitive tools and training for effective sales enablement.
Work closely with the campaign marketing team to develop buyer personas, messaging, industry targets, campaign themes, and content that drive effective marketing programs.
Work with training team to plan and deliver training for sales organization.
Collaborate with sales and product management to understand the needs of the marketplace to help formulate future product marketing strategies and tactics.
Assist the channel development and marketing team with new partner recruitment and enablement.
Cross-functional collaboration with global sales, channel, product management, marketing communications, engineering & marketing programs.
Attend relevant industry trade-shows, sponsorship and customer meetings.
10-20% travel is required.
Required Education and Experience
Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
Strong technical knowledge of enterprise security & network infrastructure (hardware or cloud based networking and security products)
Strong knowledge of the enterprise security industry including the ecosystem of companies developing products to protect enterprise networks, applications, and users
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a broad range of technical and business audiences
Strong presentation skills and ability to interact effectively with customers, analysts, press and other outside influencers
Flexibility and adaptability; Open to new ideas
Research skills; Ability to identify and distill appropriate data
Detail-oriented, with ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
