These advanced solutions include end-to-end location-based services and applications, cloud-based messaging platforms, precise location technologies, and data intelligence.ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:* The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for defining Comtech's Location Technologies Geoservices product strategy which includes defining and managing the geoservices and application product portfolio supporting a range of capabilities such as mapping, SDK development, and custom application development as well as managing partnerships. * As the leader of Geoservices team, the position requires the ability to develop and manage the product roadmap, develop product requirements, evangelize the strategic direction, and ensure that this based on sound principles of product management that include competitive analysis, product positioning, opportunity analysis and business case development. This is a pivotal and exciting rote that will define the next generation of navigation/mapping and location-based products. * This role offers hands-on responsibility for defining new products while and enhancing the core functionality of existing products that are currently used by tens of millions of users. This position requires interaction and leadership that spans every part of the company, including daily interaction with our Engineering and Product Management teams, as well as interfacing with carriers and key partners.PRIMARY DUTIES:* Ownership of the geoservices roadmap, which includes maps, geoservices, and applications. * Create comprehensive and detailed business, customer and functional requirements which include developing Product Requirements Documents (PRD) and Market Requirements Documents (MRD). * Communicate requirements to internal teams and external customers & partners. * Evaluate impact of product launches; Identify, measure and communicate key performance indicators. * Regularly monitor industry developments in the mapping, navigation, geoservices and related application space. * Create and present business cases to executive management for proposed projects, working with sales and business development to capture opportunity and costs. * Communicate a deep understanding of the end user and offer creative solutions that align with the business objectives.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:* Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical, Computer Science, or equivalent); Master of Science/Engineering (preferred)* Must have 5+ years' experience in product development. Job Summary The Senior Product Marketing Manager position is responsible for complete management of the assigned products from creation of new products through their removal from the product line. The individual is the leader for the assigned product line business charged with product launch objectives in addition to effective product and channel execution. Decisions made on products produced, manufacturing specifications, marketing strategies, sales commercialization, and promotional opportunities will be largely influenced by the research, data and analysis generated by and recommendations made by the Senior Product Marketing Manager. Primary Duties & Responsibilities * (60%) - New Product Development (NPI) * Leads cross-functional team (engineering, sourcing, supply chain, finance) through multiple on-going product development projects at various stages of development via HHI milestone process. * Develop and execute strategic product road development. Understanding of market, channel and/or customer dynamics, product design, trends, and end –user preferences and purchase drivers. * Identify and develop new business opportunities, product adjacencies, customers and markets. * Development of NPI scope documents (preliminary financials, KPIs, timeline management, etc.) * Annual supplier and factory trips * Present and interact with senior level internal and external customers * Participate in annual 3-5 year strategic planning process. * (20%) - Talent Development * Hire, manage, and develop one to two individuals. Supervises departmental staff of 1-2 employees, monitor performances, and evaluates departmental effectiveness. Deploys situational leadership to ensure objectives are met, while providing room for the team's personal contributions and growth. * Actively participates in Performance Management, Individual Development Plan creation and Goal Planning as part of preparing the team for advancement and leadership within the organization. * (10%) - Portfolio Maintenance * Supports brand guidelines to insure consistency, with specific influence on packaging, and collateral related to assigned projects. * Work with quality and brand to support installation workshops, videos, and related initiatives. * Create and deliver training modules for internal and external customers. * Responsible for the sales and gross margin performance of portfolio, includes setting pricing, P&L, asset management etc. * Own product life cycle including but not limited to set-up documentation and SKU rationalization. * (10%) – Business Processes * Contributes to HHI financial and business initiatives through established rhythms and assigned projects. Examples include sales and operations planning to improve forecast accuracy or inventory initiatives tied to working capital. * Support the management of the on-line databases to ensure proper content (internal as well as customer websites) * Manage product documentation process including mix management, product life cycle.
