Product managers work extensively with customers and cross functionally internally with product marketing, engineering, sales, corporate marketing and alliances to ensure whole product success.

Job Description:

As the Senior Product Manager/Product Line Manager Compliance & Cloud Services PM, you will be responsible for helping deliver to market a initial set of SaaS services focusing on compliance . You'll be working with most of VMware's existing products and thinking holistically about what it takes to operate a datacenter -- and help IT organizations use those datacenters to deliver real business value to their customers.

You will work across a number of different product teams and with datacenter architects and engineers to communicate requirements you've gathered from a variety of customers. You'll be the voice of those customers in design conversations, explaining "the why" behind "the what" that needs to get built.

Along the way, you'll get to wrestle with hard technical problems, smart developers and architects, great writers, and a team of PMs who love technology.

Responsibilities:

As the Senior Product Manager/Product Line Manager, Compliance & Cloud Services, you will be responsible for working with others to build, launch, and operate a set of compliance-focused SaaS offerings which integrate and work with and extend the existing VMware portfolio of products. You'll collaborate with product teams across VMware, a team of software developers, architects and engineers within the Integrated Systems BU, and most importantly, with customers to:

  • Define and drive user stories and features, user personas, product features/requirements, roadmaps and release plans for product features.

  • Identify a variety of customer needs for the platform and architecture, drive feature prioritization and work closely with engineering to deliver successful products.

  • Lead the product feature planning process; ensure that the product set meets the requirements of all users who will interact with it, be they IT experts or procurement departments.

  • Understand customer needs and requirements and represent them in MRDs & PRDs.

  • Work closely with VMware customers, developers, and key VMware stakeholders including Engineering, Global Support Services, Product Management, and Sales.

  • Understand the market and competition for use case support as a means of driving adoption of VMware technology.

  • Support planning, execution and go-to-market

Job Requirements

  • Exceptionally strong analytical skills and a natural predisposition toward data-driven decision making. The ideal candidate should nevertheless be able to make reasoned decisions in the face of uncertainty or imperfect data.

  • Superb written and verbal communication skills characterized by clarity and brevity

  • Experience in developing, launching, and operating cloud/SaaS services at scale

  • Ability to influence people at all levels across a broad variety of job functions

  • Excellent organizational skills to juggle many tasks without losing sight of what's most important

  • Dynamic and engaging speaker comfortable in front of audiences of all sizes

  • Ability to prioritize projects and efforts according to business need

  • Technical background required, IT Architecture/Administration experience and/or MBA a plus
