About the team and the role:

Risk Management is at the core of Payments done well - and we are hiring curious, driven, and adventurous professionals to transform our business unit to enable eBay's next generation Payments strategy. Our focus is to ensure the integrity of our marketplace for buyers and sellers who transact with us every single day. The scope of our charter includes Risk Management Strategy, Product, Policy, Compliance, Decision Sciences, and Policy Operations.

We are looking for the Senior Product Manager of Seller Risk to help lead our strategies and efforts to improve the overall health and security of the marketplace. You will provide product leadership for product initiatives, focusing on enabling both internal and external capabilities to combat fraud, while balancing the need for accelerated growth of our products and services. As a part of the risk product team, you will be tasked with driving all aspects of preventive risk strategies, as well as day to day management of existing ongoing optimizations. This role is a balance of establishing strategy as well as handling day-to-day responsibilities including managing communications with partners across business, operations, analytics, technology and product organizations to maximize objectives of combating fraud while crafting a streamlined transaction experience for buyer and sellers on Ebay's marketplace.

What you will accomplish:

  • Build a product vision and strategy using your knowledge of customer needs, company strategy, industry trends and risk management requirements

  • Work with Product Designers and Researchers to define UX and run studies for early validation and iteration

  • Lead the planning, discovery/scoping, and prioritization of product features to achieve our product vision

  • Develop business requirements - including feature lists and user stories

  • Manage, monitor, and scale products after initial delivery.

  • Maintain all necessary JIRA tasks and boards across teams, as well as all necessary communication to internal collaborators

  • Ability to shift from developing and communicating a strategy to executing in a cross-functional, matrixed organization

What you will bring:

  • 5+ years of product management experience working on ML/Data Science Products

  • Experience in Payments, Risk, Fraud or Technical Background preferred

  • Experience in translating complex business issues into clear goals and product requirements.

  • Solid scientific orientation and good data intuition

  • Experience in working in ML science and big-data domains (background/experience in statistical modeling and machine learning helpful)

  • Articulate complex ideas into clear, usable end-user requirements

  • Experience creating global strategies in marketplaces

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$135,200 - $205,700

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
