As a Product Manager at Remitly, you are an owner - responsible for customer and business outcomes and leading the Security team and other engineering teams through influence. You are passionate about security, privacy, and protecting customers and strive to design and build industry-best products to achieve our goals. You will partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Data teams to build and manage security and data protection and privacy programs and services.

As part of the Security Team you will:

  • Lead design and development of tools and services to bolster security and data protection and privacy.

  • Work cross-functionally with partner teams (Engineering, Infrastructure, Data, etc.) to integrate security goals into roadmaps and drive completion of those items through influence.

  • Develop critical metrics and performance indicators to illustrate security posture at Remitly and use those data points to improve the overall security posture.

  • Work broadly with all teams at Remitly to understand all things data - where we use it, how it's stored, who and what has access to it, and how we ensure the utmost privacy and protection for that data.

  • Work with the security community at large to better address common threats.


  • 5+ years of experience in digital Security fields.

  • 7+ years of experience leading multi-functional programs with proven track record of delivering customer-facing products.

  • Demonstrated experience with stakeholder management, project management, and leading through influence.

  • Excellent analytical skills - you love solving problems that have no obvious solution.

  • Ability to understand security and data risks and explain them to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience working with Amazon Web Services or another cloud provider.

  • Familiarity with PCI-DSS and GDPR. Familiarity with AML and eKYC a plus.

  • Familiarity with generally-accepted security methods, concepts, and techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • You hold at least one industry certification such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, QSA, GIAC.

  • Experience communicating with C-level staff and/or Board of Directors.

  • 2+ years experience in one or more general-purpose languages like Go, Python, JavaScript, Java, or Ruby.
