Synaptics is currently seeking a Senior Product Manager in San Jose, California. He or she will own the Fingerprint product line serving PC, Automotive and adjacent markets. The product manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the fingerprint products life cycle, including new product definition, business case generation, product promotion, collateral generation and pricing.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Own, develop and drive strategy for fingerprint and multifactor authentication products for PC, Automotive and adjacent markets

  • Own the product requirements documents (MRDs), including both hardware and software product definition, value proposition, competitive analysis, business model, GTM strategy, and business plan

  • Manage complete product lifecycle with ownership from concept to launch

  • Develop & execute Go to Market strategy and plan, drive product adoption and business growth

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful, on-time delivery of products

  • This position will work closely with customers, silicon development, platform & customer engineering, program management, and sales/FAEs.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of industry experience with a minimum of 5-8 years' experience in product marketing, or product management

  • Bachelor's degree in technical education preferred, e.g. electrical engineering, computer science or related fields, or equivalent experience

  • MBA preferred or other relevant business background

  • Technical depth, understanding of semiconductor products. Knowledge of fingerprint solution is strongly preferred

  • Understand industry dynamics of PC OEMs; Automotive experience a strong plus

  • Ability to formulate creative strategic and tactical plans and justify them, and excellent communication skills to convince and motivate others to participate.

  • Effective at building support for projects throughout large organizations: security architects, engineering, and other stakeholders (both internally and at customers)

  • Ability to identify, triage, develop and close quickly on business development opportunities.

  • Ability to work with leading ecosystem partners around the world

  • Ability to drive development and delivery of solutions from evaluations and pilots through rollout and scale up.

  • Experience defining products and solutions including MRDs/PRDs, and creating business cases

  • Strong capability to define and execute Go To Market strategy and plans

  • Self-motivated and driven, attitude of ownership
