Job Description:

The Senior Product Manager is a strategic role for HLabs, a technology division within H&S, to provide innovation, data-driven, and technology-enabled solutions. The Senior Product Manager works across multiple H&S departments, including Consulting and Search, to bring digital products to market as standalone or supporting offerings to the business. The role's primary responsibility is to serve as the product owner for new solutions, rapidly iterating to move ideas from concept validation through development phases to market delivery. A strong Senior Product Manager will have experience assessing market opportunity, developing prototypes and conducting user research, as well as prioritizing and developing roadmap features.

Specific Responsibilities

Product Owner:

  • Develop and articulate a vision of the product

  • Quickly validate concepts through market analysis, customer feedback, and competitive analysis.

  • Develop prototypes for testing, including functional or "paper" for quick feedback

  • Engage with clients and users for research and voice of the customer

  • Manage external vendors, such as design or development agencies, as needed

  • Prioritize and manage your product roadmap and backlog

  • Understand users, the marketplace, and trends for the domain or type of products being developed.

  • Drive senior level sponsorship to promote adoption and evangelize changes

  • Work closely with key stakeholders throughout the organization and adapt message according to the audience

  • Create and maintain positive relationships with multiple internal groups to support ongoing product development

  • Support training on new product features

  • Communicate clearly about the products' current and future capabilities to all levels of the organization (Analyst through CEO) to drive awareness and adoption

  • Continually acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to be effective in the position

  • Effectively manage time in a dynamic development environment

  • Act as the "funnel" for the business stakeholders and their product enhancement requests.

Position Logistics

  • Physically resides in New York, Chicago, Philadelphia or DC office

  • Member of HLabs, reporting to the Head of Product Development

  • May require some infrequent travel

The Person

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, decisive and personable. They need to guide the overall direction of the products in scope - in clear alignment with H&S enterprise and technology strategy - making tough decisions on the prioritization of features along with the timing of their release. The candidate must be organized and analytical, adept at working in a team environment, readily available to IT, and able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This person must be a creative problem-solver, able to articulate underlying issues and deliver solutions. This person must possess an ownership mindset, holding him/herself (and the broader team) accountable for results.

Qualifications & Experience


  • Working knowledge of the Executive Search business

  • Intimate knowledge of Salesforce; this includes how to develop and customize for the search business

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Highly motivated self-starter with a desire to "go the extra mile"

  • 10-12 years of detailed Business Analysis, client-facing interaction

  • 5+ years acting as a Product Manager; responsible for roadmap and product evangelism

  • Understanding of Agile and associated ceremonies

  • Familiarity with technology with at least a basic understanding of cloud technologies and UI/UX principles


  • B.S. degree in Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent preferred

  • Ability to conceptualize and prototype concepts from management and business

  • Ability to work as part of a team to solve technical problems in varied political and geographic environments

  • Familiarity with JIRA or other Roadmapping tools
