Carbonite is looking for a seasoned product manager to lead the evolution of our endpoint backup product into additional markets including cloud data sources such as Office365, Google Suite, Salesforce, Aws, Azure, and others. As the Senior PM, you will be responsible for understanding the small to medium-sized business needs around data protection, creating a roadmap to address these needs, and leading a cross-functional team to deliver solutions.
Strong candidates will enjoy a balance of customer interaction and working with a talented engineering team to translate market needs into specific technical requirements. The ideal product manager will be responsible for determining what are the most critical platforms to support in the offering, the financial opportunities and costs associated with each, and ensuring a complete and simple-to-use implementation.
Specific Objectives & Responsibilities
Your First Six Months:
Rapidly gain an understanding of Carbonite's Cloud-hosted backup and Disaster Recovery solutions.
Lead product discovery and design to define the product offering and roadmap
Develop and manage the product backlog for the engineering team, ensuring the highest value items are brought to market quickly
Collaborate with Carbonite's cross-functional sales, marketing, support, operations, and many other functions to define a go to market plan
Learn Carbonite's process for user research, product development, and optimization
Develop working relationships with each stakeholder to communicate product direction as well as manage requests for new functionality
Work closely with Carbonite's partner community to understand customer needs and pain points to propose new product capabilities
Demonstrate solid management and mentorship skills
Develop a strong working relationship with the development team through day-to-day interactions over the course of several sprint development cycles
Learn the wider backup market, competition, and industry trends
Six to Twelve Months and Beyond:
Drive the long-term product direction as the person with the best overall picture of the opportunities and priorities in front of you and the team
Proactively identify and drive to completion product initiatives that will have a measurable impact on company financial results
Act as the internal advocate and leader for the cloud application backup within the company
Key Challenges to Overcome
Manage several stakeholders across the entire organization and come up with a prioritized work plan for your development team that optimizes overall value to the business
Find the appropriate balance between new features, experience improvements, support issues and architectural work necessary to keep the application successful
Understand how the application fits into the long term company vision and use all of your knowledge about the competitive landscape to propose a compelling and ultimately successful vision for our cloud backup offering

Skills & Experience:
5 years relevant work experience, prior product management experience
Bachelors and/or Masters in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent relevant experience
Significant hands on experience with IT and system administration functions such as desktop support, systems engineering, cloud management, etc.
Familiarity with public cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud
Demonstrated prior success with defining a new product or features, testing & rapid iteration, and driving positive results for the business
Excellent verbal and written communications skills including the ability to interact with internal and external C-suite executives
