As a Senior Learning Tool Product Manager, you'll join the larger Higher Education Digital Product Management team, playing a critical role in championing the vision for new tools and enhancements and executing on bringing them to life. To be successful, you'll need to build deep relationships and work across the fast-paced world of Pearson and education technology.
Key responsibilities include:
Manages 3rd party technology partner relationships to ensure requirements, capabilities & standards, development, and timelines meet product goals and market expectations. Works closely with internal and external dev, production, and platform teams to meet product delivery goals. Defines, prioritizes, and coordinates roadmaps to align user needs and sync 3rd party and internal timelines to enable and maintain new features and supported content.
Informs business cases and provides cost estimates and technology recommendations for product feature & content requirements. Helps define priorities and standards for future product models and proposes paths to scalable and sustainable tool production, including authoring tools, standards-based components, and new market adoptions. Tracks customer feedback, usage patterns, and other data to improve learner experience.
Engages directly with customers and works closely with Commercial Product Management, Marketing, and other teams to guide discipline-specific market research to gather customer & learner needs, propose new product features and content, and determine demand for current and future learning tools, products, & product models.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams (UX, Learning Design, and others) to develop product-appropriate design & content strategies for each learning tool. Translates & facilitates between authors, product teams, and vendors to ensure that tool-based content is effectively authored to fulfill value proposition and business goals.
Participates actively in the education technology space to build relationships and drive innovation with external technology partners as needed to meet anticipated market or business needs.
Provides analysis, support, and guidance to sales, marketing, implementation, and support teams for current and forthcoming learning tools for Pearson Higher Ed and likely competitors. BA or BS required.
Must be willing to work flexibly with remote teams across US and international time zones. This may include occasional off-hours meetings depending on candidate's location. Occasional attendance at education-related conferences or customer events (on-site or virtual) may be required.
3 yrs of technology product management or new product development experience. This should include experience leading multiple products or product features through varied stages of the product lifecycle, from ideation and launch to sustaining investment and retirement.
Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to foster/maintain relationships internally and externally. Great written as well as oral communication & presentation skills. Comfort presenting to and facilitating ideas with diverse audiences.
Excellent project management skills and proven track record developing complex digital projects and working with matrixed teams to deliver projects on schedule. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to balance short-term and long-term deadlines.
Solid grounding in web and mobile software technologies with proven ability to work closely with vendors and development teams. Familiarity with and understanding of current digital and mobile technologies. JIRA & ServiceNow experience a plus.
Significant customer-facing experience, especially presenting/facilitating complex ideas or new technology. Experience in education or corporate learning industries a plus.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for innovative technology and improving education.
The anticipated starting salary range for Colorado-based individuals expressing interest in this position is 75K-95K. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program.
