Senior Product Engineering Manager

In this position, you will head up a product engineering team within Electrification Distribution Solutions Grid Components, ensuring delivery of a portfolio of projects, as well as guiding and coaching the engineering team, and developing their skills and knowledge. In this role, you will drive team performance to ensure that all requirements are met and customer expectations are exceeded, with a focus on safety, on-time delivery, quality and improved margins.
Your responsibilities
Support customers with application configuration and ensure product released to production meets customer requirements/ specifications
Drive new business, targeting new opportunities and capitalizing on attendance at conferences and client events by presenting new technology and innovations
Drive product engineering solutions that improve efficiency and simplification of production processes and reduce defects
Create and implement plans to identify and minimize business risks, and to maximize opportunities
Drive improvements to product and production processes to improve efficiencies and quality
Support Research & Development and Manufacturing Engineering teams in releasing new technology and products to customers and manufacturing on-time and meeting specifications/ expectations
Work with procurement and logistics to ensure that suitable suppliers, services and equipment are available to assist the engineering team
Develop, implement, and improve processes, policies and procedures to increase effectiveness across the Engineering function
Oversee the completion of risk and opportunity assessments, and oversee the implementation of resulting actions
Create financial plans and budget estimates for product engineering and oversee execution of plans to ensure that targets are met
Your background
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing working in engineering field
Sound knowledge of engineering techniques, processes and tools
A strong focus on safe work practices and dedication to following workplace safety guidelines
Leadership background in leading team of engineers
A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and a desire to learn about new technologies
Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with a collaborative, solution-focused approach, and strong written and spoken communication skills
Six Sigma and lean manufacturing certification
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
