Current Need

Our McKesson Brands private label business is seeking a Senior Product Development Manager to join our team in Richmond, VA.

Position Description

The McKesson Brands Senior Product Development Manager will oversee needles and syringes and iv therapy categories. The Senior Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of McKesson Brands category strategies focused on the growth of revenue (new product launches, product improvements, and existing product portfolio optimization) and share. Our McKesson Brands business consists of 57 categories and over 5,000 skus, which are sold across multiple markets including physician offices, health systems, ambulatory surgery centers, extended care facilities, home health agencies, government, and a range of retail and direct to consumer settings.

Key responsibilities include:

  • New product ideation and concept sell-in. Conceptualize new McKesson Brands product ideas by understanding customer needs, reviewing current market landscape, researching competitive offerings, and gaining insights from market data, sales reps, customers, and suppliers. Build business case to sell-in new product concepts and gain alignment from key stakeholders.

  • New product development. Prioritize new product opportunities and serve as project lead for the product development process for new McKesson Brands products within the needles and syringes and iv therapy categories. Collaborate regularly with Sourcing, Quality Assurance, Brand Management, Supply Chain Management, National Brand Category Management, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Suppliers, Legal and Compliance to ensure new products launch on time.

  • Portfolio and funnel management. Manage existing product portfolio in accordance with McKesson Brands strategy and in partnership with the national brand strategy. Explore opportunities to rationalize the portfolio, making sure each product meets our customers' needs and generates optimal financial value to the organization.

  • Financial planning and forecasting. Annually build out financial plan for McKesson Brands needles and syringes and iv therapy categories, including revenue by customer segment (Primary Care, Extended Care, Government, and Consumer). Develop initiatives and specific tactics to achieve financial plan. Report out monthly on results and modify tactics as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

College degree. Typically requires 7+ years of product development experience.

Critical Qualifications

  • Experience in product development from concept development through product launch

  • Ability to translate strategic vision into tactical plans and influence adoption of prescribed actions

  • Customer-centric mindset with capability of translating that into the product development process

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with a range of counterparts including Global Sourcing, Category Management, Finance, Legal, Inventory Management, Marketing and Sales

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and perform under tight deadlines

  • Solid understanding of supply chain operations and financial profitability levers

Additional Skills and Qualifications

  • Private label and/or healthcare experience a plus

  • Experience managing a P&L and demonstrated financial acumen

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

Education

  • BA / BS in business, marketing, supply chain or related field required; MBA a plus.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$114,700 - $191,100
