JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Designer produces designs and develops new products using sound engineering principles. They propose modifications and solutions to problems with existing products. They create bills of material, engineering change notices and other documents as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Model mechanical and structural design concepts using Parametric 3D software.
Produce detail drawings for new and existing components in accordance with company drafting standards.
Prepare ECN, bills of material and assembly drawings.
Create sketches, views or images for bulletins and other technical documents.
Performs a preliminary self-check of design produced prior to submitting them to the engineers for approval.
Create tolerance stack up studies and perform design checks.
Perform design calculations.
Check drawings produced by other designers and drafters.
Provide technical support to Operations, Quality, Manufacturing and Marketing.
Interface with vendors and provide technical support.
Participate in company safety meetings and safety awareness.
Other duties maybe assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in engineering technology with a minimum of 8 years design experience or
Associate degree in engineering technology with a minimum of 12 years of design experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, comprehend and write in English.
Ability to effectively present technical information, to colleagues, customers, and vendors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS
SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD
Manufacturing/Inventory software
Microsoft Office
CERTIFICATES, LICENCES, REGISTRATIONS
SOLIDWORKS CSWP certification preferred
Valid Driver's License
Valid passport
Domestic and international travel may be required.

Proficient in SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD.
Mechanical design principals including machined parts, assemblies, weldment and sheet metal fabrication.
Knowledge of creating integrated systems.
Ability to draft as per ANSI Y14.5 standard.
Knowledge of Manufacturing Software.
Design creativity.
Ability to perform tolerance stack-up study.
Ability to do simple hand calculations and FEA studies.
Knowledge of oilfield regulatory requirements.
