Senior Product Designer, AI

Summary:

We are currently seeking a new Senior Product Designer to join our Product Design team, specifically to work on Clio Duo, Clio's proprietary AI product. This role is available to candidates on a hybrid capacity performed from one of our hubs in Toronto, Burnaby or Calgary.

What your team does:

Design plays an integral role at Clio, making up one of the three pillars of our Research and Development organization alongside Product Management and Engineering. Product designers directly engage in researching the behaviours and needs of our users. They act as champions of user experience as we work to transform the way lawyers and their staff provide services to their clients. What you'll work on:

• Collaborate with Duo's Staff Product Designer on the vision and experience of Duo across our present and future products

• Deeply understand our customers' core workflows and partner with the designers of each product area on their relationship to Duo

• Join a diversely skilled design team using modern design tools

• Work as part of a cross functional unit (triad), alongside product management and engineering

• Advocate for our customers by knowing them and their needs inside out

• Concept, prototype, design and present solutions that solve both business and user problems and deliver measurable outcomes

• Coach and mentor designers on a range of design practices

• Create sketches, flow diagrams, wireframes, and mockups of features serving different user segments

• Conduct user interviews, usability testing, and analysis

• Use and leverage metrics to drive product design and measure product success

• Help guide Duo's engineering team to be thoughtful about prompt engineering decisions that may impact Duo's end user experience

What you bring:

• Excellent communication skills, both synchronously and asynchronously.

• Experience as an interactive designer with product experience. SaaS experience is a bonus

• A portfolio showing UX problem solving and great visual designs

• Experience with modern design tools (Figma) and the willingness to adopt new tools as needed

• Strong understanding of web technologies

• Demonstrated passion and knowledge of machine learning and AI. Experience working designing AI experiences is a bonus!

• Enthusiasm and a deep curiosity for ongoing learning about the quickly moving AI industry and genuine curiosity to understand the evolving technology

• A design degree or relevant experience with platform and/or application design

• Ability to quickly ramp up on new domains, specifically both legal and AI

• Humility plus strong opinions that are loosely held

The expected salary range* for this role is $121,500 to $164,500 CAD. Please note there are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency.

• Our salary bands are designed to reflect the range of skills and experience needed for the position and to allow room for growth at Clio. For experienced individuals, we typically hire at or around the midpoint of the band. The top portion of the salary band is reserved for employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. Those who are new to the role may join below the midpoint and develop their skills over time. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
