Senior Product Design Engineer, Google Augmented Reality

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 7 years of experience in consumer product design, and with developing and shipping multiple consumer products.

• 4 years of experience working in a mechanical engineering technical environment, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.

• 1 year of experience in technical leadership.

As a Hardware Engineer, you design and build the systems that are the heart of the world's largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000-$207,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Identify issues with hardware components.

• Evaluate hardware design based on product requirements.

• Apply best practices to optimize hardware components to meet performance, power, and cost-effectiveness requirements.

• Drive efforts for the documentation of the hardware design, implementation, or test/validation results throughout the product life-cycle.

• Review and approve hardware designs (e.g., block diagrams, schematics, layouts, BOM, algorithms, protocols, link budgets).
