The CSG Data Science Solutions team at Salesforce builds internal data-driven products that enables how we drive success for our customers. The team is made up of data scientists, data engineers, data analysts and product managers who are dedicated to building solutions that deliver personalized recommendations and help scale how Salesforce delivers customer success.

The Senior Product Data Analyst will drive the efforts to capture and understand our customer's use of Salesforce products and their engagement with Salesforce. This work builds the foundational data layer that the Data Science Solutions team will leverage to build data-driven products. The Senior Product Analyst will engage with various data teams within Salesforce to understand the product usage data that is captured for each product.

In this role, you will:

  • Understand the breadth and depth of Salesforce product capabilities and how it is captured by the metadata around customers' use of these products

  • Partner with Salesforce product specialists to document and evaluate required data and information

  • Capture technical requirements for data capture and collaborate with data engineers and data scientists in how this data is used within the internal solutions that the team develops

  • Act as the liaison between the product teams, business stakeholders, other data teams as well as our internal development team

  • Mentor and collaborate with other team members to grow our internal domain and data knowledge

  • Be a champion of data hygiene and establish processes to test/validate data and ensure high data integrity and quality

  • Constantly learn, and have a clear pulse on how this work drives how we enable our internal stakeholders to drive and scale customer success

Experience & Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in a combination of data engineering, data analysis, product analytics or an equivalent role

  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields

  • Expert in SQL, and other distributed data tools (Spark, Hive, Pig, MapReduce). Experience with Splunk, Python/R and other BI tools is a plus

  • Ability to translate from data to relevant business insights

  • Experience working with BI/Visualization tools like Tableau, Qlik, Domo, Einstein Analytics, etc

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communicator - both written and verbal, with the ability to work with both executives as well as technologists

  • Innovative mindset with an eagerness to learn

  • Advanced Salesforce product knowledge is a big plus
