Assurant has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Procurement Operations Analyst!

The Sr. Procurement analyst will report to the Director, Spend Analytics and Reporting. In this role, they will be responsible for providing senior level analytics pulling multiple sources of data related to spend, contracts and governance for Sourcing & Procurement. In addition, they will be responsible to be the administrator of any tools critical to the function.

Responsibilities

Spend Analytics (40%)

  • Utilizing a high level of understanding around spend, categories and supplier information to design and implement ongoing supplier spend reports

  • Analyze and summarize large amounts of data to "tell the story" of trends and identify issues and opportunities

  • Ensure all sources of data and data flow is defined and documented to clearly capture supplier spend at relevant levels such as category, cost center, item, internal compliance, etc.

  • Support ad-hoc supplier spend analytic requests

Management Reporting (25%)

  • In consultation with S & P leadership, design formatting, data and process flow to provide ongoing management reporting and dashboards.

  • Ensure reporting and dashboards are produced with a high level of quality and on-time.

  • Monitor reporting and analytics best processes in operational areas such as procurement to identify and implement applicable process improvements to the reporting and analysis.

  • Design reporting dashboards for Administrative Services groups

  • Utilizing knowledge of the data, tools and reporting standards, support ad-hoc requests as they arise

Program Savings Methodology and Validation (20%)

  • Support the Director, Spend Analytics and Reporting and procurement provider with determining appropriate savings methodology for all types of procurement projects

  • Support process and structure improvements to validate all cost savings from the provider

  • Design reporting process with the provider to ensure Assurant and provider have one version of savings reporting

  • Provide savings reporting to Vendor Management team to ensure contractual obligations are met

Tool Administration and other as assigned (15%)

  • Hold the administrator role for any tools and/or data sources critical to producing accurate and on time reporting

  • Responsible to develop and own complex programs and databases such as SQL, MS Access, Tableau, etc.

  • Other reporting, analytics or system support as identified by leadership

Education

  • Bachelor's or master's degree, preferably in finance, accounting, or a related field

Professional Experience:

  • Five years of progressive financial analysis, reconciliation, and research experience

  • Five years of experience in data mining, database management, and reportin

  • At least two years of database experience with SQL, MS Access, Tableau, etc.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills in a team environment

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Detailed oriented with the ability to track multiple action items, resources, and deliverables

  • Demonstrated ability to function in a team and highly matrixed environment

  • Advanced level experience in Microsoft Excel (including complex formulas and pivot tables) and databases

  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Outlook

Reviews, analyzes, and contributes to execution of the LOB Risk Management programs and framework. Qualifications Basic Requirements: * 5 years of work experience including audit, operations, process engineering or risk management. * Working knowledge of SOX and other regulatory requirements, and operational risk concepts. * Demonstrate professional communications and presentation skills, strong relationship management skills and ability to support multiple ongoing initiatives Preferred Requirements: * Project management, consulting or management experience. * Risk management experience. * Knowledge of related industry or division.
