Your role at Baxter
The Senior Procurement Manager will optimize supplier relationships while increasing value and ensuring uninterrupted product/service flow. You will develop project plans and handle projects to implement short and long-term sourcing strategies for Indirect procurement categories supporting our Manufacturing Operations and other facilities such as Commercial Offices. Will be directly responsible for development of supplier relations and management of individuals and programs to affect total cost efficiencies. Responsible for crafting innovative techniques and providing new tools for use in improving value of the procurement supply chain. Interfaces regularly with Senior Procurement Leaders as well as related management functions to guarantee consistency of strategies as well as overall company goals.
What you'll be doing
Leading and supporting procurement excellence and driving best value for the categories under management, with key focus on cost, quality, and service
Design sourcing strategies and develop internal/supplier relationships that extract maximum value from the current and potential supplier base for various Indirect Procurement categories. Strategies are continuously challenged and refined.
Collaborating closely with business partners at the senior level to define priorities, establish strategic and tactical objectives, support the development of a multi-year category roadmap ensuring accurate alignment of requirements and supply base
Support and if required lead cross functional teams to successfully drive complex sourcing projects
Lead supplier selection process and negotiate global contracts. Develop actionable recommendations based on a clear definition and articulation of options and tradeoffs; develops action plans that anticipate implementation problems and leverages internal and supplier capabilities while building full commitment throughout the process.
Monitor category and/or supplier spending, both in aggregate and via patterns/cycles, and continuously evaluate options to reduce total cost of ownership. In depth understanding of suppliers' capabilities, capacity and overall financial stability
Continuously evaluate and assess supplier performance reports consistent with agreed to requirements to insure consistency with quality, service and delivery targets
Stimulate and support product innovation; develop market intelligence and benchmarking; act as subject matter authority in commodity and supplier market dynamics; proactively identify new markets and supplier sources
Develop and manage working relationships with both internal Baxter functions and suppliers to handle resolution of supplier issues
Drive implementation of the Baxter Supplier Quality Standard and develop strong, ethical relationships with world-class suppliers consistent with Baxter Shared Values and Baxter's Business Practice Standard for Suppliers
Handle analysis of complex problems related to suppliers and continuity of supply requiring in-depth analysis of supplier management principles
Uses a network of benchmarking peers to work towards Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP)
What you'll bring
Bachelor/Master's degree
Minimum 7 years of overall business and/or procurement experience
C.P.M. desirable
Ability to think strategically and globally
Excellent project management, facilitation, interpersonal and negotiation skills
Financial savvy; high degree of ethics
Ability to build strategic supplier relationship
Ability to build and nurture Stakeholder Relationships

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $128,000 - $176,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and long-term incentive.
