POSITION OVERVIEW: The qualified candidate will be a key technical contributor in developing manufacturing processes and completing design transfer activities. In this position, the individual will work closely with R&D teams in developing manufacturing processes and completing design transfer and implementation into manufacturing. The individual will work with manufacturing site team to provide concurrent engineering feedback and input and process development for a smooth transfer of new products/processes into manufacturing.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Drive the implementation of instrument and consumable products into both internal and external manufacturing operations

  • Manage scope and magnitude of project assignments from a single component to new product introduction

  • Assist with formalizing and releasing documentation such as mechanical drawings, bill of Materials (BOM), and assembly instructions

  • Review engineering documents and provide detailed feedback concerning manufacturability; participate in design reviews of projects

  • Work with commodity managers and supply chain leads to identify key suppliers

  • Support planning and execution of verification and validation activities

  • Develop lean manufacturing processes

  • Complete design and process failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA)

  • Manage scope and magnitude of project assignments from a single component to new product introduction

  • REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering required

  • Master's Degree preferred; MBA or technical degree

  • Experience (5-8 years) working in a regulated (ISO, FDA) manufacturing environment with a preference for new product introduction

  • Subject matter expert on design transfer activity from R&D to manufacturing.

  • Deliver complete product design solution/manufacturing processes as part of the phase-gate process; create / provide standardized delivery packages to manufacturing.

  • Strong process and manufacturing engineering skills

  • Agile experience a plus

  • Problem solving skills and the ability to take a logical approach to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently

  • Ability to interface with engineering team and other professionals in a cross-functional organization

  • Strong self-management, prioritizing and multi-tasking skills to work within tight deadlines

This role works across Moderna Technical Operations, in a matrix organization, working with managers, end users and super users in Manufacturing, Quality, Finance and Digital Systems. The role encompasses all Master Data management, within Moderna's SAP S4-HANA system including Internal Manufacturing, CMOs, Warehousing and Distribution, and Materials. This role requires previous data management experience and an understanding of SAP S4-HANA and/or SAP ECC and APO, and the cross functional integration points in materials management, production planning, logistics and execution. Here's What You'll Do: * Establish and implement a master data governance framework including: * Data owner/user role. * Data steward role. * Data policies. * Data Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). * Define and implement efficient and effective processes for the creation and maintenance all core supply chain master data objects (e.g. Material Masters, BOMs, Recipes, Calendars, PIRs etc.). Document the creation and maintenance processes in SOPs. * Maintains SAP Process Maps based on current business processes * Defines, documents, and implements global ERP master data strategy to support business requirements including, but not limited to, distribution and regulatory controls. Manage the systems landscape (Digital) related to Material Master, vendor & intercompany customers system to optimize the use of data and technical solutions * Responsible for the integration of the master data and system solution that supports the global & local change control process * Ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements (including record management) and continuous improvement of quality relevant processes within functional area * Define and implement performance indicators for the completeness and accuracy of key master data objects including monthly analysis of results to identify systemic issues and drive improvement actions. * Ensure smooth operations throughout product lifecycle by serving as center of expertise for maintaining S4 HANA ERP - SCM Master Data attributes according to defined local and global standards. * Be the SME leading training of all Master Data processes across Moderna Technical Operations. * Be the Center of Expertise to define and maintain Master Data. Provide advice and guidance about Master Data management across Moderna Technical Operations including Digital, Quality and Finance.
