Job Description

HII-Mission Technologies is looking for a motivated individual to fill the role of Process Engineer for their Syracuse, NY Operations. The Product Engineering is responsible for supporting products through the entire lifecycle from conceptual design to end of life by bridging engineering, operations, and program disciplines. This position will work with engineers, program managers, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure the proper transition of products between engineering to production. The Process Engineer role will be an integral team member supporting various systems and programs.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between Engineering and Production.

  • Support and facilitate products that are transitioning from engineering to production.

  • Provide inputs into the design of future product for manufacturability, performance, and cost.

  • Support proposal efforts involving productization, transition to manufacturing, and product lifecycle support

  • Developing a clear understanding of technical and delivery requirements and develop processes to ensure objectives are met.

  • Implementing and sustaining cost-effective and efficient methods of testing and troubleshooting equipment and systems.

  • Supporting design changes to existing product as required due to obsolescence, performance, or cost reduction.

  • Development of Production workflow and processes

  • Creation of associated manufacturing documentation, including but not limited to Work Instructions, Procedures & Manufacturing Aids

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in realted field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, Word, and Excel.

  • Active Secret clearance a plus; must be eligible to obtain a US Government clearance

  • Excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills with an attention to detail

  • Ability to quickly learn new software tools and processes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members

  • Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification with a demonstrated performance in driving continuous improvement.

  • Self-motivated and driven desire to succeed with minimal direction

  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.

  • Experience with certified quality management systems (ISO9001 and AS9100)

Role also includes participation in monitoring of program effectiveness, and governance model to ensure compliance with internal requirements.
